Well, in the musical theme, my daughter Ashley's favorite movie is "Annie, Get Your Gun"- she loves it and could watch it over and over again!

As for me, my favorite movie of all time is probably "A League of Their Own".

Gracie's favorite is "The Tigger Movie" and Brian's is "Hoosiers" or "Rudy".

I love old movies! Arsenic and Old Lace, The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, are just two of my favorites. Our current favorite to watch is The Tenth Kingdom(a Hallmark Movie).

Can't wait to try and see some of your favorites!

I love The Man From Snowy River. I have that, and Return to Snowy River, taped off of tv when I was a teenager. We tried to watch it a few months ago and the sound quality was horrible. Wonder if it's available anywhere on video or DVD?

GREASE...is the word. My parents actually let me watch it when I was only a wee one. How naive they were, with all the adult content, but I LOVED it, and still do til this day. I use to pretend I was Rizzo. My dream is to play the part on Broadway...sigh!

Brooke, I loved Passion Of The Christ!!! Did you cry too  ?

Brooke, tell me about Moll Flanders. Tonight DH is out of town, so we're having a Ladies' Movie Night at my house. Kids are going upstairs with their popcorn and watch their show in one room, while I'm having about 4 friends over to watch "Jamaica Inn" with Jane Seymour. We do this every now and then, when a husband is gone! Is Moll Flanders a good movie for that kind of thing? In the past, we've seen "Lorna Dunne", "The Scarlet Pimpernell" (which got us doing this in the first place!), "Calendar Girls" (a rather unique film that I truely enjoyed!!!), and a Shakespeare..."As You Like It", perhaps....?

My all-time favorite....without doubt is "Fiddler on the Roof", with "Sound of Music" ranking up there near the top.

I like A Walk in the Clouds. Keanu Reeves plays this gallant, gentlemanly character who comes back from the war and falls in love with a girl he met on the bus going home. He's married to a trampy woman he married before he shipped out and she cheats on him while he's away.
The girl he met is pregnant, and he ends up leaving his trampy wife( her choice) to help this other girl. It's so romantic and he's so gallant and Keanu Reeve's is so handsome.

 Whew! Is it warm in here suddenly???

Becky, I saw A Walk in the Clouds about 6 weeks ago. My boys were all gone & I had a couple of "chick flicks" checked out from the library. It was a good movie. :D

Did anybody like the Spiderman movies? These are favorites of my boys, but I like them too. Kinda weird, but in a good way.

The Mask of Zorro with Antonio Banderas & Catherine Zeta Jones is another favorite here. It has everything--handsome hero, beautiful girl, action, comedy, romance. And it is a very clean movie, only one or two mild profanities and nothing too sexual. We saw a movie poster at the theatre for The Legend of Zorro coming out this fall with the same actors. We're looking forward to it and hope it is as good as the first one.

The thing about the Zorro movie is that not only do I like it, but dh & both boys do too. The boys are just as excited about the new one as me. :D

The funny thing about the Puss in Boots character is that I had some photos taken of the boys a couple of weeks ago & I told them to just think of Puss in Boots when he got ready to take it. The proofs came back with ear-to-ear grins on their faces. :D

Jackie...sorry I didn't get on here till after the fact...been working at the county fair. Moll Flanders is set in England when the Americas were first being colonized. She is born to a woman in prison (possibly prostitute, but I can't remember)...anyway, it follows her life from birth when she was given to the church to raise, she escaped and couldn't make it so she turned to prostitution and so on...gets out of that to marry a man and tragedy strikes again....I won't give any more away because it is just too good to blow it for you! Defintely get it the next time you have the women over....cuz men don't usually like to get caught crying over movies  .

About Man from Snowy River....we have them both, too! You can find them at Wal-Mart! :D

Eeyore, I saw both Spiderman movies and enjoyed both.

Oh my goodness, how could I forget this one...Dirty Dancing. I had a huge mad crush on Patrick Swayze when I was growing up. He was plastered all over my bedroom walls, along with Johnny Depp and a few others.

Brooke, I understand County Fair! I've got two kids in 4-H, and my youngest is a Cloverbud. Rachael is planning on entering our German Shepherd in the Dog Training this year! We're not starting our HS group until October this year because Fair is the end of September.

Moll Flanders sounds interesting. I might mention it to Susie as a possibility for the next time. I've seen it at the library many times. We had a lovely evening! There were only three of us. Plus my neighber from across the street came for a while. Her DH works second shift, so I had invited her. But she's also the one with a seven-week old baby (her first) so when Zoe woke up and started fussing, she left.
