Our biggest hit for ds was a skyrail roller coaster marble run. He LOVES it! He got a train set that he likes a lot too, and his tracing paper from Grandma was a hit. The best thing I got was a healthy kitty. He had surgery the Friday before Christmas and is doing super!
I saw that marble run and wished my dd14 was a bit younger, he used to LOVE making his own contraptions for his marbles. Now he is a little old for that, so the erector sets went over so well!! Great to hear your kitty is doing well, we are getting ready to bring home a kitten in a couple of months. It is an exotic, a bengal. They are so awesome, some friends have one and it looks just like a leopard. We've been wanting one for years and finally decided to go for it when dh gets his tax return, we are all very excited! Michelle
My nephew was here tonight, he's 13 and he really liked the marble run! Dh (who, for the record, loves the marble run as well) was thinking we should get one for him for his 14th bday. BIL had a great time with it too. So for this toy, I definitely don't think 14 is too old!
Emma has an old marble run but she loves it. It used to belong to her sister when she was younger. Sometimes she makes the neatest runs. Why did your kitty need surgery? I am glad he is doing super. Patty
Good to hear! I was afraid to buy it for him and end up with one of those "thanks Mom ~ I'm not a baby anymore..." looks. I'll have to show it to him while we're shopping tomorrow and see if it piques his interest. I think I would play with it, if nobody else does. Michelle
Has anyone seen the "20 questions" thing? It's a round ball, and it's like playing that with family. You think of something, then say you're ready and it starts guessing questions it's programmed to. But it's amazing how it closes in on things and more times than not guesses the right thing! It's really fun, and my kids have enjoyed it.
I did see that, it looks too cool! Some of these newer toys are just amazing. I'm curious about that fly pen that is supposed to help with math, spanish etc. I just wonder how well it works, it sure is expensive! Michelle
He had to have a total ear ablation...he had his ear canal removed. Our vet suggested getting both of them removed awhile back, he had benign tumors growing in both, so I started taking him to a holistic vet and we saved one ear. The other ear just kept getting worse, and it got to the point that his ear was totally blocked, so we went ahead with the surgery on that ear. But he's doing better every day!
My boys have 20 Questions and we have all had fun with it. It is one of those games that you show to people and they freak out. It took me several times before I stumped it!
My dd loved her "Littlest Pet Shop" stuff! She and her friends really enjoy playing with those! DS13 got a computer soccer game---oh yeah, he and his big brother love soccer! He also got "Madden '07", a football computer game. He loves it! DS15 got a coupon for one soccer jersey he could pick out on-line. We had an amount we told him we'd pay on it, anything above that he needed to cover. He was so excited! It is now ordered, and he is waiting impatiently for it to arrive! Those were the presents that were the biggest hits here.
Emma really enjoys her scooter and the remote control tarantula and snake my sister bought her. I like it too!!! From a distance the tarantula looks real. I really like the way the legs look as though it is crawling. Patty
has any one done this online???? someone on the AtoZ put the 20 questions website and its a lot of fun. I'll see if I can find it.
Patty, Carl saw that tarantula! He was telling me about it, and I was SO grossed out, lol! Phillip would love something like that.
