3 hours and 15 minute for my 18 yr old dd and I. It wasn't too bad as we were inside. The crowd was in a good mood and we killed time chatting. I called my oldest dd who is in anothe precinct and it only took her an hour. We had 4 sheets on our ballot so it didn't take too long.

I felt really sorry for the people who stood in line for 3 hours to be told they were at the wrong place. The poll workers started going through the line telling folks to double check their voter card.

I got in & out as well. Total there about 9 mins. I found a ballot on line last nite & filled it out to take with me that way it was easier!!!

Came home swapped kids with the neighbor & she went about the same amount of time!!!

Got the last available parking space just as I pulled in. No line at all. Done in 5 mins.

Now when I was leaving the parking lot was a mad house and the line was out the door.

    Guess I got good timing.

Went at 10 - got in and out in 15 minutes, not bad.

Our polling place does 2 districts. The other district was running MUCH slower....not sure why. Either a larger district or more people voting! :D

    Kids did GREAT!

    :)

Whew....now all we have to do is wait wait wait.

My stomach is turning already, haven't had the nerve to turn on the TV. :D

DH and I are going to go vote this evening. My InLaws will watch my rugrats. The kids and I were planning to go to the school and hold signs and visit with the people coming in and out but DD starting having seizures yesterday and is still having them today and I won't/can't leave her until I hear back from the neurologist about what to do for her.

Well went to vote around 10:30am today I let an elder lady go in front of me she was chatting to me up to the VA hall about the parking and her hair not staying in place hehe so I just listend and let her go in the door first.

They were upset in the polling place because someone parked their car with a McCain sticker to close to the poll place something about 100 yards but the head person didnt make a fuss out of it like of the ladys was doing. She said they will be leaving soon.

I was so worried it was going to be a huge line I should have known better, it looks like its been steady of people all day.

    Phew over with now...

I was watching CNN for a bit but they were so negative towards McCain just bashing the heck out of him I just turned it off. Hate when they are onesided

We went to vote at about 9:30 and there was no line at all, only 2 people in front of me and dh so all together we were in for MAYBE 15 MINUTES. I am actually a bit worried because I am afraid that people won't be getting out to vote on this side of Virginia but they will be on the eastern side. People tend to think that it's already won and that there is no point in going :(

You know VA is one of those swing states...so I'm biting my nails....this day has been so long, lol. :) Give me results~!!!! :D

I voted after Bible study and there was no line at all. Every other time I have voted, there has been a line. We had four pages. It took about five minutes at the most.

I heard that there was no one in line around 3 or so, maybe a 15 minute wait. I'm hoping the apparent low turnout was due to so many people voting early. We were expecting an 80% turnout today.

it was painless in and out in a few mintues....

Sam, its so sad how they say who won already that is why the lady at our voting poll said the lines were short because alot of people weren't voting because CNN has said McCain lost.

Hopefully people stop listening to the media and vote as long as the polls are open.
Ours still are open. I think they close at 8:00 our time.

    Well, Ohio went Blue.

I'm feeling more encouraged than I did earlier this evening. It seems that, while the Dems will maintain their majority, they won't have enough to just do whatever they want. They're going to have to be careful. And, as Jen mentioned on the other thread, there's plenty of idiots out there that think Obama will pay off their houses and put gas in their tanks, etc. They're going to be VERY discouraged, especially when he starts taxing all the working folk, which will send prices up, which will reduce people buying, which will mean they lose their job.

And the Marriage Amendments are passing. In Florida it needed to pass by at least 60%, and it IS. They are even thinking it will pass in California. So that's encouraging, too!
