Jackie, when I worked in a Day Care in Wisconsin I had a little boy who was from a mix race another one was teasing him telling him he had salt and pepper mom and dad. The little boy got all upset and said at least when I need salt and pepper they are there. I turned around and laugh so hard. Then I had along talk with both of them. How to be nice to everyone no matter what color they are?

I totally agree with you. I was starting to feel like I didnt fit in here with this topic, we go ToT and I have some cut-outs in my windows that are fall/halloween themed, I hung 1 plastic ghost from my front porch light but that is a decoration. Madison knows how I feel on the gory ugly stuff that is portrayed at halloween, She is going to be a pink princess.

Kris, I had a white friend who was married to a black man. Their middle-school daughter came home one day and commented that she had been called a "half-breed" by someone at school. She responded with "That's right! I've got the best of BOTH worlds!"

We do halloween too. We go to the fall festival at church, the trunk or treat at church and a few houses of close family. We dress up too. No harm at all but everyone has ideas of their own. I also live in a little town so that is a big difference too. I don't go house to house even here.
I just respect everyone for doing what is best for their kids.

Just my two cents on the black/white/indian/whatever other race there is. LOL
We all have handicaps of some kind or some problem so why judge anyone at all. Some folks are clean, some aren't, some like tanning beds, some are afraid of them, some color their hair, some don't, some like gray, etc. It would be a boring world if we were all the same. I am glad most homeschooling families practice to love each other and see differences as learning experiences.
God knew what each person needed to look like and what the future holds for them. He is perfect and didn't judge the less perfect. He loved them. No matter what!!!!

Hope I can live to be close to that. No one is perfect but we can love each other for what God made us.
