Excellent observation Prairie Home! Thanks for noticing that common denominator.

And yet this same child would need a note for an aspirin in school.....

And yet in many states, this very same child could have an elective abortion without even notifying her parents.

    Slippery slopes, indeed.

And the law that forbids them from being taken across state lines to another state that does NOT have a parental consent law (to get around the current law in their home state) is being held up in Congress!

All these things tend to trouble me. A lot. What guarantees do we have from the Ruler of the Universe as to our freedoms, possessions, children, etc?
Last night our family read about Believers in prison who were thankful they could clank their chains, keeping time to their songs of praise! Stripped of every human dignity, they yet reported joy!!! We marvelled at that.
I'm contemplating that today: Do we have more to be thankful for than they? Did they have everything in their misery that they needed to be content? My husband is asking us to memorize Heb. 13:5. Is there Something which "Ceasar" can never take away? And if so, how does that apply to the things we are discussing here?
I would appreciate hearing how others cope, as we face things that "ought not to be." Thanks. Prairie Home
P.S. Of course, you should know that we believe there is! But we need to encourage one another as we see these things coming to pass.

when those things happen, if they are near us we need to speak up and do something about it, of course often times we hear of things that 'happened' and are beyond us. But if someone we know i sfacing this sort of thing we would need to step up and encourage the right thing in God's eyes.
For those we hear of that we have no way of reaching we know Someone who does! We can pray and ask Him to send those who can comfort and encourage, help and direct, to save the lost people who are doing those things which would cause our own children to be a risk even. Thats wht it comes down to, we have to humble ourselves and pray.....

oh, and in response to our freedoms, we are free to love our Lord with all our hearts, but in our country we are only free to follow the laws and give ceaser what is due him. We are loaned our children for the years God has chosen for us to raise them, just as our parents were loaned us, we need to do the best we can with what HE has given us to and allow them to find HIm, then He will do the rest. That may be the wrong thing on this thread I forget what line we are under, but that is how I see it, they are ours train up... that they should go.... focus on those words, and it puts a lot in perspective.
