Hi How many times a week do you and your family eat out (including breakfast, lunch, supper or snacks)? I'm just curious as to what others do. I would say our family (4 of us) dines out at least three times a week. We usually go out for supper. I tend to make breakfasts and lunches, so by supper time I feel like I am done cooking. I don't care for cooking anyway, which is probably why we spend money on eating out. I know we should cut back on dining out though. It's just so tempting when we can go down the road and get a large pizza and breadsticks for $8!
We don't eat out often. We do eat at church on Wednesday nights. We can't afford to eat out often with six of us and 3 are teenagers. Freddy will take the girls out for lunch at McDonalds once in a while. I have to remind him to do stuff like that with them. I can't eat out right now so they get to do that with just Daddy. Crystal goes out to eat with her best friend every Sunday after church. They have been doing that for a long time. They go with her friends grandmother and sister. I give her the money to go every week so she can spend time with Sara. Beth
At most, once a week. I do grocery shopping on Fridays after dh gets home from work, & by the time I get home it's usually really close to dinner time. So, sometimes we'll order a pizza or get Taco Bell or Subway. I love to cook, so most days I have no problem making all three meals. It's usually only if we're really busy & I don't have time to cook that we order out. We'll be eating out either tonight or tomorrow. Joslyn has been studying Japan this week (nothing too indepth, just kind of an intro to the culture). We're planning on going to a Japanese restaurant so the kids can try some authentic Japanese food. It took a decent amount of searching, but I finally found one that isn't too expensive, has a casual atmosphere, and has take out (in case the kids act up & we need to leave early, which is VERY possible).
Each Friday is Pizza/take out night. I either order or make the kids pizza, DH does not like pizza so he picks up subway for us (and Eva-- she can't tollorate pizza for dinner) or we order chineese food. On either saturday or sunday we get McDonalds (or simular for lunch) On Tuesdays we are out with my mom, we get lunch most the time..... but a lot of the time we either use our free coupons from pizza hut for the kids or other places that have discounts for kids.
I almost forgot. Our local Pizza Hut has a Monday night special where you just drive through the parking lot and there is a table set up selling large pepperoni pizzas to go for $6.00 each. Katie and I will go get those for the kids once in a while.
Too much I must admit. We are now spending the winter with friends who like to dine out, as do we, so it gets contagious. We have been here since 11/26 and have already eaten out 3 times. I really don't like to cook that much, so it doesn't take much to talk me into it.
We "eat out" (and by that, I am including drive thru fast food, as well) at most 4 times a month. Sometimes less.
We eat out at least 2 or 3 times a week on average. Some weeks we may not eat out at all, others it seems we are too busy to be home for much of anything besides breakfast so we eat out 5+ times that week.
We eat out about 1x a week if not less. I guess it depends though. When we are really busy it is not unheard of to eat out 3-5x a week. lol. When my dh was gone for a week we ate out like all week! LOL. he will be gone again in January. I can't wait. I know that sounds bad...but at least I know I won't be cooking very often. lol. With no car right now and a dh who works seconds...there is no way we can eat out other than on weekends.
We eat out once every million blue moons.. Hubby and I try to get out on "dates" and actually spend money about once every 6 months. If I had money to burn, I would do it more often.
I'm with Ava. One time a week or less. And that includes fast food or ordering pizza. What it does NOT include is Carl and I going to Starbucks during AWANAS on Wednseday nights. We usually get a drink and something to eat (brownie, etc.). That runs us about $10, and we do that 2-4 times a month.
We maybe do once a week, but it usually is more like once or twice a month. If we do eat out it is fast food or pizza. I can't remember the last time we went to a sit-down place.
Every tuesday night is date night, and every sunday after church....b/c monday is grocery day, so by sunday we're outta food!
less than once a month. I cook with whole ingredients and organic foods and you just can't get that quality dining out. Some people can't understand it, but I really don't enjoy it and I don't feel good after eating out. I'd rather spend a little more on some gourmet ingredients and make something fabulous. My dh and my kids like to cook, so I get a break when I need it. I try to plan ahead for busy weeks and cook double batches or use the crockpot. And we eat at my parents about once a week- my mom is a fabulous cook!
Typically once a week or less. However this week it was more because I hadn't been to the grocery store. The girls and I had Chick Fil A yesterday for lunch and then went to Whataburger for a milk shake later in the afternoon. Tonight we all ate at Whataburger. My husband does not count in this because he eats out lunch every day.
Probably more than we should. As a couple of ladies mentioned earlier it can depend on how busy we are. Somedays I am just too pooped to even think about cooking so we hit the DT (we do not have any reasonably priced/kid friendly sit down places here) and grab some grub.
we picked up some pre made sandwiches from K-mart while shopping last night, every one liked it. was cheaper than eating out.
