My dh would never do that. He still has bad memories of his dad taking him and his sister on very LONG and BORING fishing trips in the summer with nothing but Kmart sandwiches! LOL.

How nice though, that you got to "eat out" without the cost! It was probably better than nuggets anyway. I will sometimes buy the premade sandwiches at the Sofo's in my city.

I second the organics and I understand it. Personally, I enjoy being served, but I don't like how I feel after eating out, I always end up with water retention the next day, although digestive enzymes help a bit.

I don't like everyday cooking generally, but I am a fairly good cook and I go through short phases when I like it. Actually, my husband is the one who really enjoys it; he even watches the food channel and searches recipes online!

In answer to the original question: We don't eat at fast food places unless we are taking a trip and we ran out of the food we took with us. My daughter has never had McDonalds--if you can imagine that! I personally have yet to eat at a Checkers or Sonic even though we have both rather close to us.

We go out maybe once in two or three weeks to a sit down dinner at family restaurant. I tend to stick with salads.

I sure can! We're not much into fast food, either. I took ds5 into Burger King once and when he saw a picture of fries, he asked if we could get "some of those cheese sticks." LOL. So, no, we're definitely not regulars!
As far as how often we eat out, not very. Maybe 2 times a month, probably less.

There is a restaurant that claims to be organic by me. I have not darkened the door as I wonder if that is a scheme. LOL....hey, that's me...I sometimes doubt the organic milk I buy is truly organic. LOL.

Even when money wasn't tight we rarely eat out as a family. Joyce and I might grab a $1 burger and fries but that is usually it. When I go out with a good friend of mine we usually go to CiCi's pizza buffet. I can no longer count Joyce as a child but the two of us can still eat for around $10 depending on if we get drinks. I try to make sure I get my card stamped and the 6th buffet is free. When we went to the zoo the day before Thanksgiving, my friend had free passes for the zoo so the whole day cost me $12. I can feed the babies for free which is a bonus. Also, Kris mentioned Sam's pizza before. This is something my friend and I have done also. We can split a large pizza, her son adds a hotdog, and get drinks for all (icees for the kids) and pay about $13 and everyone is full!

It use to be a lot, probably twice a week. Now, it's rare. Maybe once a month, if that, because finances are pretty tight. It's a luxary for us right now.

we broght those sandwiches home (they aren't just the yucky bologny and stuff, they had some nice ones, and I heated them up --- DS had meatball with cheese, and they were like subway, toasted subs, then I slathered the ones who like mayo with that).... But I still ate pizza with ducky, I dind't want him to feel left out. (it was a digorno.... dont they say thats like take out).

I don't order extra but we always have pizza left over. I have just recently started to make pizza at home, I use the dough in the can, and the family loves it so much better than ordering out.
Even as a kid I loved to eat leftovers for breakfast. Elliot will sometimes too. He does love to eat grilled cheese for breakfast.

I don't ever order an extra because no matter how much we get we hardly ever have any left. On Halloween I ate more than a large pizza by myself. I eat like a horse. Actually we all do here. If I ordered an extra pizza for dinner we'd just eat it too!

We went out to eat today too and didn't intend to. We ended up at the McDonald's inside Wal Mart for lunch. I hate McDonald's and we never go so it was a special treat before xmas shopping this afternoon. Now hubby and Sam are going to get a xmas tree and I am cooking tonight.

I thought I was the only one who does this!

When people look at me like I'm strange with my grilled cheese sandwhich, I simply explain it's toast and cheese.

I love a grilled cheez whiz sandwich eaten along with a dill pickle! That is so good! I don't think I could eat it with jelly, though!
