I don't like them at all, they don't represent an intelligent feminine view. I remember one episode where one of them said they had never thought about the shape of the earth.

They're all annoying anyway and just talk over each other and argue with each other. It's obvious THEY weren't homeschooled by their lack of respect for each other! What's their excuse?

They are being just ignorant. It's always people with the loudest opinions that don't have all their facts together or have never experienced it. Yes we are weird to them but that is because it is an unknown to them. They really need to walk in one of our shoes for a week and then maybe they would change their mind. That is except Elizabeth, she seems to know. Good thing I don't care for that show.

Take it in context. She starts off with a joke on Bush, and then makes a comment about getting laughs as a comedian. So to me, while she may believe it to some extent, she's just trying to get a laugh, rather than to express an opinion.

Intelligent people will take it in context or shrug it off.

But "the mass" will take it as a real view given by a "big" person and adopt it as their own view without even thinking about whether it is correct or incorrect.

I have lots of respect for people but not-so-much for the "herd". My personal PoV: a person is intelligent, but people are stupid. Of course, I think I adopted this about the same time I held my first job in the CS industry, and had to treat people as though they were small children while explaining the obvious to them.

Nothing about that show impresses me. Joy Behar seems to find fame by insulting anyone and everyone. I read some place she was a former school teacher. Of course she's not going to have anything positive to say on the subject if that's the case.

I've never cared to watch people who became famous for making fun of or putting down other people.

UGH! I never could stomach the view~Joy always rubbed me the wrong way, now she really is on my list! I wonder if there is a way to contact abc and let them know we (homeschoolers) reallydid not appriciate her comment. Yall know the doodoo would have hit the fan if she said something like that about private/public school. As for Elizabeth~bless her!! She tried to provide an intellegent point on hsing, but the other loud mouths interrupted her.

Who cares what they say on The View and don't even get me started on Joy Behar .

We know these viewpoints are out there. I don't even listen to these people.

    My two cents

Ugh! I didn't look at the clip because I don't think I could stomach it. I really hate that show (I know...hate is not a Christian virtue). Joy is my least favorite then Whoopi then Sherri then Barbara. Three of those women are supposed to be comedians. (Can you say HAS BEEN?) They are not funny and only prove their ignorance everyday. Why is this show still on the air? Do they get good ratings?? Who are they supposed to be representing? Most bitter liberal women work and are not at home at ten in the morning to watch the show anyway! I may start sending them hate mail. GRRRRR:twisted:

She could have chosen her words more carefully, though. Even I found it insulting, and you know I normally see the other side of things like this.

I have only heard Joy speak a few times during the elections and everything she said was off base whether she was joking or not.

There are many things I would like to say about Joy but being a Christian woman I cannot. LOL.

Those women are not even on my radar in terms of what they say being relevant to me.

Incidentally, I don't believe they say what they necessarily think. Just what will get a reaction.

At least they're getting paid for not having real lives of their own. In the mean time, I have a REAL life full of REAL meaning.

I think that she did start with a joke about Bush BUT if you look at it afterwards, when she starts to mention the homeschooling, she looks pretty serious and is even rolling her eyes at Sherri's suggestion of homeschool. Joke or not, to call kids demented is wrong.
I told dh about it and he said "I went to public school and I'm demented" rofl...he's a nut.
I stopped watching it a long time ago. I liked it at first when Meridith and the Asian lady was on there (can't remember her name now...she does nat. geo. specials now).
I hate the way they are constantly interrupting and talking over each other. It's just rude.

That was an ignorant, insensitive remark for which I think an apology should be issued. I don't own a TV; I don't watch the show. I don't even know who the lady who made the remark is. However, she said it on national TV, and although the blonde tried to counter her, it was just abandoned. She is perpetuating a sterotype which is intolerable. I don't have time to craft a letter now, but I will. Here's the link to let 'em have it...
