With me in limbo between jobs and Sami Saw the movie RV and started begging to let us do that . hehe. I thought about it, but I was still figuring out a way to have any money at all. Dosn't seem too expensive, but you gotta have something coming in, I would think.
My great Grandparents are going an an assisted living and will be selling their RV in a few months.

I have always thought RVing the country would be a lot of fun and educational to boot!

I don't know if my little family will ever have the opportunity to do it, but highly encourage anyone who has the chance! Memories are everlasting.

The one we got was on a trade so it is an 85, but in good shape. If we get orders to GA we plan on driving it from North Pole, AK to Valdosta this spring!

That's a LONG drive! But if there is no time limit you could see so much!

My BIL is from Valdosta, GA. He and my sis live in the suburbs of Atlanta now.

Yes, its a long ways but not in RV and the RV really isn't that old for a RV if you know what I am saying as long as everything is in working shape they can go on forever. Just, take your time and have fun. You might want to join some groups too. To cut down prices of camping and they has have RV towing if something happens to any of your cars, and RV a towing person will come and tow you to a safe place, which we have used several times. It's through GOOD Sam Club. they also give you discounts on camping, gas and food.

Ok Deena, I will tell her to write here.

RV is very simple living but you do have to give up alot. But, you also gain alot. All the neat things you see and people you meet, believe me I have meet some people.

YEah, it does seem like you'd have to give up a lot! But the experience of traveling and getting closer to the family is worth it, huh? Plus you don't have huge mortgage payments, just huge gas payments when you drive anywhere! :)

I think we could learn a lot by giving up all the extras and trying something like that!

I've always wanted to run away from home with my kids and see the country in an RV. But now they are almost all gone. It's lost a lot of it's excitement.

Everything I've ever wanted to do has been with my family. It's been weird now that they are growing up. Can you say, "Midlife crisis?"

Kris, how are you hooked up to the internet?

No Deena, no large mortage payment, but large RV payments. Yes, it's been wonderful and brought us alot closer.

Valerie, we have wireless internet. You get the card at Wal mart or Best Buy and you put it in your computer if the camp ground or truck stop has a net tower you are in luck if not you are out of luck. Never had trouble since I went wireless.

Ok, well first off, ours is older, as we said, but you may have had an older one at one point. HOW HARD is it REALLY to empty the 'toilet tank' and how do you do it without getting icky?

We lived in a travel trailer for a few months and the worst part of emptying the tank was if you let it sit and get firmed up. Empty regularly and before you really need to, and it will be easier. Enzymes are helpful, it seems like.

I don't know how icky you have to get, my dh always did the job for us. lol

Just the thought of the hose and such, I mean..........ugh. Lol, we will be in it for probably a month or better. I am tempted to just only use rest stops and such. Haha.

Ok I have been in my motor home for two years straight right now. Empty the potty is easy part. All you have to do and when you aren't set up for full time living is when you stop at rest areas you take a pair of gloves put them on the hose is hocked up to the tank from the inside you just pull it out and put the hose in the drain and pull a plug and it goes. Enzymes are ok we try not to use to many of them. They aren't nice to smell. So, the empty is easy.

About the net we have no company you shouldn't have a company if you are traveling you go from site to site.

Don't you have to purchase your card from someone? My dh has a verizon wireless card.

If not, what card are you using, where did you get it, etc. The only thing I've heard of is a card that sort of leeches onto the services of those around you. I was told that wasn't legal, but I do not know anything about it. What they said didn't make sense to me.

this is how it works ok. We went to Best Buy bought a wireless card and put in our computer then when we get to the camp ground or area we are staying in we hook up to there wireless net. It comes in the price of camping. If you stay at a truck stop or rest areas have them you just hook up to them. Rest areas charge nothing. Truck stops it's a dollar nothing much. Did that help? Did you understand what I am talking about?
