I'm so glad you got the link to work, Ava Rose! And I think all of you are lovely--as well as every one who has put their picutures on this forum in other places! I'm reminded of a saying that a dear college friend of mine gave me. (To more fully appreciate this, you need to know that she is gorgeous, sweet, & kind, and that when I first heard that she knew the knock-out handsome young man that I was about to have my first date with, I couldn't believe that, knowing her, he would ever ask me! You can imagine my tremendous relief when I discovered she was his first cousin!:) And she then became my cousin, too, when I married him & remains a dear friend.) Anyway, she had a saying, "You do not love me because I am beautiful: I am beautiful because you love me!" This thread reminds me of that.

Well, thanks. I will admit the pic is a few years old. I don't feel young most of the time. lol. I keep looking at women in their 20s and think...wow, I remember that! Anway what is the VOWWSH club??? I have been offline for the past week, maybe I missed something.

"Vain Old Women With Short Hair." (Underlining added.) Deena came up with it, I think, in honor of about four of us who had recently done some chopping on our tresses, & had received comments that it made us look younger--and thus, tempted to vainity! You see now, why you probably don't qualify? :) (That was meant as a complement, precious one--not that you wouldn't be entirely welcome!) On the other hand, I unargueably do qualify. Fortunately, the pictures don't show all of my wrinkles, sagging skin, loss of muscle tone, & glistening brow from hot flashes. I seem to be in a stage of rapid aging, & vanity tells me it's a stranger looking back at me from the mirror. Don't worry, though, we'll still be here & will welcome you to the club in a couple of decades--but only if you're vain enough to want to look younger to the extent of trimming those gorgeous red curls!!!:)

I made a commitment to myself to cut my hair when I turned 30. I did. However, I let it grow again. Then I cut it again, then I let it grow again. Now, it looks like it does in the pic. I think I already feel pretty vain. I am struggling with trying to loose some weight. I think we all want to hang on to what we considered "in our prime." lol.

hey I AM in my prime!
I think its all a matter of how we look at things, I feel young, my body is broken at the moment but I have visions of running in a 3 k at least still!
My hair is cut abotu once a year or so, Lol well thats professionally, becasue they have the gall to charge 17 dollars to trim long hair! Can you beleive it?
How much do you pay for your do, and how often do you do it?

I get my hair done about once or twice a year. It costs about $20-25. Why, I torture my pocketbook with such a large cost, I will never know...I always come out looking the same. I could probably to to a cheaper salon but I never do.

My body will NEVER run to the end of the street, much less in a 3K! BUT I'd still love to hike at least part of the Appalachian Trail someday!!! (It's not the distance, it's the speed, lol!)

At the beauty school, I think the cuts were $6-$7.

About being in one's prime... That reminds me of our dear uncle, who lived to be 104. Often when people asked him how he was, he'd reply: "This is the best day of my life! I'm one day closer to seeing the Lord!"

    oo I like that!

do you ever stop and think, that if we went home to be with Him now, what it would be like for our kids? Is that a care of the world thing? I think Im on the wrong list for that one...

Now, I would like to be one day closer to being raptured. I wouldn't want to die while my children were young. I am not sure if that shows God the great appreication I have for the gifts he has given me or pure flesh filled selfishness. lol.
