Both of my kids are asthmatic. Love the idea of using chamomile or lavendar with the albuterol. Thanks!!

Just be careful with that.. many aromas can cause asthma attacks... I'm not sure I would ever try it with my son, he hasn't had an attack in 3 years thank God, but when he did have problems it was triggered by a million different things, and many aroma therapy scents would set him off. We couldn't walk near those little carts in the mall that sell all those goodies.

Again, though, most (not all, but most) of those little carts are not TRUE aromatherapy. Most of those are artificial chemically junk that is supposed to smell good. Nothing more. True aromatherapy is a naturally occurring essential oil that triggers a chemical reaction in the brain.

Xander is 20 months old and isn't sensitive to smells. If your child is, then by all means be cautious about it. But he isn't. So a half drop (or less) of pure essential oil doesn't bother his asthma at all. Sometimes, if I get a particularly potent jar, I'll thin it out with some olive oil. But I don't add any manufactured trash. Well, other than the albuterol itself...lol. Keep in mind, though, he's on a nebulizer still. So he's not getting the whole shot of oil in one whiff. It takes a good 15+ minutes for his treatment.

If you suspect an ear infection you can insert a clove of garlic into the ear like a hearing aid. The garlic draws out the infection. About 2 hours. We taped one to ds's ear when he was about 18 months old and we put the same tape on his teddy bears ears. I suggest holding it in with bandaids. The tape caused irritation on his skin...

Doesn't hurt a bit! When I did it I poked a hole in it and tied dental floss to it, I don't think most people do but I was afraid it would get lost, lol. If you catch the infection right at the beginning, just putting it in overnight should do the trick. :)

Okay, I am not sure if this is going to alienate me on this board or not, but here it goes....

I do some stuff that is really different. First off, about 15 years ago, during a spiritual fast, the Lord gave me the gift of healing so I often just pray for other people's ailments. For instance, if someone has a migraine, I might place my hands on her head and pray. I feel whether or not the person will accept the gift or not--yes, some people reject healing. In the cases of those who accept the healing, the headache and its symptoms, like puffy eyes, are usually completely gone from 5 to 20 minutes.

As great as that sounds, I cannot use this gift on myself and I am very sensitive to everyone who is imbalanced around me or anyone I am just thinking about or praying about. I actually can feel other people's pain within my own body. It can be overwhelming and very, very taxing.

I like really natural remedies like herbs and such, but because of this sensitivity, I have become more of an "energy" person. I have used magnets and a certain type of polarizer, a passive energy device. Although I can feel what homeopathic remedies will work (rather than determine that by matching symptoms), I tend to use a machine that makes homeopathic-like remedies, but are actually tailor-made remedies for the entire person or will "treat" a person directly. There are several such machines out there, but I had designed the best I have ever found myself, but I am not into marketing it at all. It's a "Big Brother is watching" kind of thing.

I also use another machine that brings harmonic frequencies to the body. I began using using a similar machine, referred as a Rife machine, some years ago when I had severe back problems, which helped some, but then I did my own research and made it even better. I had suffered with my back problems for six years and I cured myself with my own research. I have even had people with ten-year paralysis return to full use with my program and those with cancer--well, the cancer often just disappeared, but I am no longer in the business at all. I loved helping people, but Big Brother did not like my machines being sold as non-medical devices and I just did not have the funds or the time to jump through all their hoops, so I dropped it all to be with my family.

Thankfully, they cannot take away prayer.

I remember years ago a friend used to use mayo on her hair. She'd wet her hair down, apply mayo liberally, massage it in (and the scalp), then put a shower cap on for like half an hour or so, then rinse and wash her hair.

I've also heard beer is supposed to be good for your hair. I tried it once years ago (used a can of my uncle's beer as we don't drink it), but couldn't stand the smell, so I didn't leave it in.

I use cinnamon suppliments to help with sugar levels. (at my last check up it was at 92). My Mom is diabetic, so I'm trying to 'stay ahead of the game' (eating healthier, too) so that hopefully I won't have it.

I use flax oil for cholesterol. (I actually take an Omega 3,6,& 9 suppliment) At my last cholesterol check it was only 140 (they want it to be under 200 or 190, I think).

I take a daily probiotic called Culturelle.

For yeast problems I 'douche' with hydrogine peroxide watered down, then insert plain yogurt at night for several days. This works miracles!

I take Apple Cider Vinegar - helps with lots of things.

For hormone problems and imbalances I am taking Evening Primrose Oil and Don Quai.

I had to have my gall bladder taken out in May, so I take a digetsive enzyme to help break things down for now. My liver has been 'sore' since then so I take a "Liver Support" herb, which has really helped.

I don't use any meds or antibiotics, but I do better if someone asks a question about what they should do. I just have too much info in my head.

Garlic is a number one in my home and our Vitamin/Mineral. We are rarely ill.

Also having kids who are not vaccinated and have not had any newborn hospital tests done on them really seems to have made a difference.

I posted a thread similar to this one. I am glad to see others like to use natural remedies.

I have never heard of onion juice for eraches!

Home remedies I use are definitely vitamin C and echinacea for cold and flu season. I like Oscillococcinum as well for the flu. I have also read recently that honey and cinnamon is a great combination for a huge variety of things. You could probably google it. And for headaches I've found a great one that works called Migra-Eeze(have been able to find this at seacoastvitamins.com, which is where I get my supplements). It's main ingredient is butterbut, which works to reduce smooth muscle spasms and blood vessel constriction, both of which happen at the onset of a migraine. It works great. I also know seeing a chiropractor does wonders for some who get migraines.

This sound alot like what I do now. My mom has a rife machine and it has helped her, but what has helped her the most is energy work, with and without magnets. She is also like you and very sensitive to others energy. I was a skeptic when I first heard about it and I didn't believe people were actually being "healed", I figured it was a placebo effect, but after years of watching I finally became a believer. I do energy work on my kids when they are sick and it is amazing.

I know this is going to sound super weird to everyone, but I also release trapped emotions from myself and others. It has to do with the energy inside each of us and emotions we have "collected" within ourselves over the course of our lives. I had a serious pain in my left knee for 4 months and I could not get rid of it. It hurt to walk, sit and even lay down. There was no way I could exercise. I tried icing it, heating it, and resting it. Usually when I do those the pain goes away. This time it didn't. I finally did some energy work and released some emotions and the pain was instantly gone. It hasn't returned either.

As far as other natural methods...I am so far from mainstream...no doctors here, unless there is a medical emergency. I mostly use essential oils for my family. We have not been sick in nearly 3 years, and when we do start to come down with something, I test them using energy to find out what they need. Energy testing is so easy my 6 year old can do it. We use the essential oils, or charcoal mixture, or whatever their body needs. Sometimes all it needs it tylenol, sometimes all it needs is to smell certain aromas.

SeekingmyLord - I would love to know more about what methods you use. I'll PM you.

Apple cider vinegar (Braggs), raw honey and sometimes lemon made into a hot drink to ease cold and congestion. Also have used it soaked in brown paper bag with black pepper and placed on chest (pepper side down) for 20 minutes. When I get a cold it usually last a couple of weeks, but the last one I had was almost completely gone in less than a week. ACV really helps soothe things down enough to get good sleep.

ACV for acid reflux!! No need for prescriptions. I use no more than 2 tsp / cup of water and it's enough to get rid of it. Low carb diet also helps me control my reflux too.

Vinegar for warts. Any kind will do. Get a small amount of cotton (just enough to cover wart) and place on wart, then cover with band aid and leave overnight. If the skin is sensitive around the wart cover it with a little vaseline. Will be gone in a matter of days. My sister had a HUGE one on her finger that had been there for forever. It was gone in 4 days with vinegar. I've used it several times. Leaves no scarring and is not toxic at all.

Homemade deodorant. Coconut oil (organic virgin), cornstarch and baking soda. The only one that works for me!!

When I feel early symptoms of UTI or a yeast infection coming on I mix 2 TBS apple cider vinegar in a glass of cold water and drink it, twice a day. That usually knocks my symptoms out within a day. I found this cure after I went to the dr for a UTI and the antibiotics did nothing...I suffered for months and it became a kidney infection. I was almost septic before they finally found something to knock it out. Now I drink apple cider vinegar in water and haven't had a problem since.
For upset stomach my great grandmother taught me to mix a pinch of baking soda in with a ton of crushed ice and water and sip, stops the vomiting.
