I guess I have not patience because it has taken longer than I anticipated lol. The cut itself has healed nicely but my wrist and hand still hurt more than I thought they would. I can say that the issues with my hand going numb have greatly diminished already.

Well, I'll be 54. Not old enough to retire yet.... I hope to take long vacations with DH over the summer. I will probably continue teach online, which I can even do on vacation as long as I have a good internet connection!

I want to work hard on being completely debt free by then. We will have college expenses, but after that things should be pretty fancy free for us!

This is what I HAVE been doing:

I volunteered teaching reading fluency and comp for two school years and substituted when I got an assignment.

I am a substitute teacher. The one school that is close has issues with someone who needs a "reasonable accomodation" under ADA so that didnt work out. I worked there for two school years and really enjoyed it, besides the discrimination and harassment.

They were using a lot of bleach which triggered an asthma attack. I asked if they could wait 30 minutes until school was out and I would be gone, they didnt want to. SO, the sequestered me to the classroom. Guess I wasnt allowed to use the restroom either and it didnt matter that I could smell the bleach through the vent in the wall.

I had applied for a job with the county and with small town politics, someone close to the person doing the hiring informed me that I would not get the job and said, "you wont get the job because you are too old and your husband makes too much money". Wow, age discrimination and they know my finances better than me. Edited to say, I dont think 45 is old.

I did not go back to volunteering because I would experience the same issues that administration doesnt care about. They plead ignorance to the law and that is their defense. Sorry for the mild vent....

mama bear I have the same reaction on a mild level but with Pinesol, it stops me from breathing as if someone turned off a valve! I had them change products before at a private school but that is private not public

Under ADA-Americas Disability Act they are required to make a "reasonable accomodation" for me because my severity of asthma falls under ADA. They are just being ignorant jerks. If I had the energy I would file a complaint with the EEOC and ADA but I just dont care to work for a place that apparently thinks intolerance is good.

well my kids and I have a long ways to go before the end. My baby is only 1 and I'm not completely convinced there won't be more. But I have a heart for foster to adopt with older children and teens. So as my kids get older and we are able to invest in a home large enough to do so we will foster to adopt older kids and teens. My life's work is to be a mama to my own babies and to some of the motherless God willing.

If I had to get a job for income reasons when the kids were grown and gone I'd open a daycare. I have considered slowly getting a teaching degree so I could open a small private school legally in my home. We'll see though. It's a very long way off and I can't even begin to fathom what God might have in store for me then.
