I have heard stories about what sick people can do with kids' pictures....like digitally alter them in horrible ways to satisfy their perversion. Even if someone can't find your location, they can still take pictures of people and that is enough for us to be cautious.

When this came up, I asked my dh about it, too. He said he'd rather I didn't put their pictures on the internet. My avatar shows them from behind and you can't really recognize them, so it's OK with him.

It's sad, but you just don't know about people, anymore.

My dh wouldn't let the dd's picture on the web because there are to many sick people out there, and you don't know who is reading this.

You don't have to be a member to read any of these threads so that is why he wouldn't let my dd's picture up here.

To bad the world has came this way.

    Eeyore,
Snoopy was not a happy camper when they put that Onesie on him. He was walking off in a huff when I took the photo. The boys wore that onesie when they were babies, hhmmmm! so my babies were the size of a poodle? LOL

I couldn't have said it better. It's no reflection on any of the members that we 'e-talk' with everyday. It's that "x factor" out there that we don't know about. It's sad that we have to worry about these things, but in today's world...

    Brooke,
I have got to see a photo of your snail Kovu. Bethany is a cutie! When is she going to have her babies?

Wow, Staci! I had a similar experience but it was an old man who enticed my friend and I at the tender age of 4 or 5 into his apartment (my grandma lived next door) for ice cream. When we took a bite he tried to eat it off our tongues. To this day it makes me nausiated. My dd is 6yo and I hope we have taught her to go with her gut when things seem just not right. Fortunately for your friend you were there to knock some sense into her!

Bethany was about the right age to breed when we got her. We aren't sure when they mated, we just know her belly is disproportionately large :D. Their gestation is around 90 days, so it could literally be tomorrow or a few weeks from now. Their tummies can look big for a few weeks. This will be our first litter...we are so excited! They hit the ground running--literally. They are born with eyes and ears open, and all their hair...and eating food. They really have been a wonderful "first pet" for a young child to take sole responsibility for. Of course, the bedding needs changed and dh and I take care of that part...for now.

I'll go snap a pic of Kovu. He is a recent addition. Dd found him on the playground and brought him home. We looked up how to care for them online. One year we rescued an emaciated one-eyed toad and nursed him back to health. We released him in September to make sure he could go through all his rights of passage and such ;).

    Here's the little dude.

Another scary thing they all don't let people know when they move in the neighbor hood. It happen to us last month in our neighborhood there was a couple that move in. She was wonderful but he just seem different. Guess it's hard to explain. Any way I watch hm for weeks and would never let my dd's out of my sight. I watch them like hawks. Then one day he looked at me and the girls so funny, I decide why does this guy watch ever move we make. I decide to do some searching on my owe and found out he was a bad bad man. He was out for kidnapping a little girl last year. I called the police and said I thought you were suppose to tell everyone in the neighborhood when one of this kind moved in. They then told me it's up to his officer to do that not them. How scary. So, it's never to late to be safe then sorry. Always watch behind your back.

    Scary world.

I think you are at more risk in your neighborhood than on the net. Just my two cents. They can't touch your kids on the net. In your neighborhood they can. Even uncles, cousins, and such. You can never been sure. Just like Kris said. I just don't see anything from the pictures most were head shots or like my kids high chest up. Nothing really you can do there. Kids also change in looks so so much too. Mine have. That was 1 year ago and they have really changed alot.

And it is true that pictures of heads are put on different bodies. I was looking for a picture of an actress while looking for a new hairstyle. I was linked to a picture of her head on some bony, undressed woman's body. It was clearly a picture a husband or boyfriend had taken of the woman, then he or someone else doctored it.

You may find many parts of this thread that don't make any sense (or missing posts). I was contacted today by someone and asked to removed some of the pictures that I had posted here as a precaution - the person was no longer comfortable with their pictures being publically posted (as was the case with me as well) and so there are parts of this thread that just don't make sense anymore... that's why.

Please know that not all minor preditors will be listed on such a list...if they molested someone before the age of 10 they would not be listed, nor would they be charged with anything or be recieve any counseling- this is so sad. At the same time their victems recieve any protection from them. This is a sad situation. Our family knows all too well how this can impact peoples lives. You may have noticed that on an earlier post I mentioned that my son has PTSD...this is a result of one of these tiny preditors. She was only 9 at the time, but apparently it was not the first time she molested a little boy. My son was in a daycare setting, and the daycare knew nothing of the girl's sexual history. She was very well practiced apparently was very slick. I am only sharing this so that you all know to please watch your children in any setting and do not assume that since you have that list you know who all of the preditors are. Also, most places no longer teach good touch bad touch, and many parents don't even approach this topic until their children are much older than my son was (he was only 5). We were lucky in that he did know some of good touch bad touch, but he is a little slow to read social cues and when he realized that what felt "good" was not a good touch some damage had already been done. It was only after that incident that I found out that there were numerous children close to our home (and we lived in a small middle to upperclass community) that were a danger in the police department's eyes but were not on that list because of their ages.
Again, PLEASE be aware that not all preditors will be on that list, and some of the slyest preditors are young and unassuming. I realize that some may not blame a child so young as they were obviously molested as well, however, that does not make your children anymore safe.

I too would love to post pics of my babies but I agree that it isn't safe. So, instead, here are pics of my other babies.
    Hope i got this right.
