I was actually dubbed "virgin ears" in Jr.High! Back then I pretty much was a fuddy duddy! Sometimes I long for those days but life is good as a mom and "granny"! It's sad that in this day and age the lyrics are so blatant in their descriptions you don't have to say "Hmm" you know what they are talking about.

The only movie I know of, is no an official movie of the song, but back in the 70's there was "Pete's Dragon". That's the one I grew up on.....

There was a song that went "Puff the magic dragon lived by the sea, in the land of autumn mist in the land of Hanalee" or something to that effect! I thing that Pete's Dragon was another movie. Was Puff even a movie?

    Crap on a stick..
Ya'll just made me remember something funny...

My cousin and I were being baby-sat by our grandmother one day. It was 1976 and she and I were singing "Shake shake shake, shake your booty!" From K.C> And the Sunshine band. WE were 5 and 6 years old.

We got slapped on the behind for singing that nasty song!
    hahahahahaha!
My Granny just would not believe me that it was a real song played on the radio, she went on and on about how they don't play trash like that on the radio and I was more upset that she did not believe me, than for the whoopin.....

    I totally forgot about that!

I remember one that went "Push, push in the bush!"

But in another light, was it the Tony Tenille who sang "Do that to me one more time"? I heard her in an interview once. She said her MOTHER called and got on her about that song. "WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT IN THAT SONG, YOUNG LADY???" And she replied, "Just KISSING, Mom! 'Kiss me, like you just did...' GEESH, Mom!!!" LOL!

I just learned a few weeks ago that my favorite song : Dancing with myself by Billy Idol is not about dancing with oneself ,but doing something ELSE by yourself! My DH had to explain that to me!! I was so embrassed! Oh well I will still listen to that song and I will still think it is about dancing!
Side note about Prince...He is now a Jehovahs Witness and will not play most of his songs now because of his new beliefs. He owns a club out here in Vegas called 3121 ( its inside some big casino) and he has alot of Latin and Jazz acts perform there.
I thought he was great at the half time show!!

Another song is Blister in teh Sun by the Violent Femes. I used to LOVE that song. I think it was the music I liked and really didn't pay attention to the words and then one day my roomate pointed it out to me. Its all about the same thing Dancing with myself is about.

Oh and another one from when I was a kid is Let's Get Physical. I actually thought is was about exercise.

I never saw Rock N Roll High School. However, I am sure I would have thought the same thing. lol. Amazing how much we change over time. lol. I remember wearing big black boots and black clothes...maybe a bit of color. I never went way too goth or anything.....no white make up or black eye make-up...I think I was too vain for that anyway. lol. Oh and my big black boots were not army boots, as I was too vain for that...I had to look sleek. So I had high black books with a big heel. lol. I was like a cross between chic and goth....lol. I still like wearing black.

I still like black too. I was the same as you - wore the black boots and black clothing but I never went goth either. I was too vain too!! LOL!!

In that movie the girls were trying to get tickets to the Ramones concert and one girl had written a song she wanted to get to them. At some point in the movie the kids totally took over the school and the halls were filled with soapy water and kids were throwing books out of the window. I just thought they were too awesome and now I cringe at the thought of my kids ever feeling that way about school.

Purple Rain saw it's grave long ago. I was a Prince fan at one time. He was an odd choice for a halftime show.
