You know what? Send a pebble from your yard... umm.. doodie free, though. We can compare it to all the others and mark where it came from on a map.

Oh you want doodie free ones? Now I have to go back out and find some other rocks! :) Not really, I wouldn't do that to you!

WOW, that's very impressive to collect that many samples, and have all the names for them too! That sounds really neat! I'm afraid ours won't be that fancy!

I'm finding good lesson plans, plus fun activities like making chocolate rocks and a rock layer cake. Rock candy, too.

Wow Becky, my youngest has always collectioned rocks no matter where we go we end up with 50 rocks to bring home. Can't name them all but she loves them. Always tells us she is going to build her house from all of them when she gets older. The way she is going I think she will be able too. sounds like a nice study maybe something I should think about doing for the girls.

Becky, pm me your address and I'll send you a few rocks from our flower beds. I'm not sure what's all in it, but they are all different colors and such. I'll make sure they're doodie free;). You sure you don't want one of our squirrels? They could make a great pet;).

No 'tanks! When we moved here a squirrel used to stand on our neighbor's garage roof and stare at our house. I assumed the previous owners fed him. He left not long after that.

I do have a squirrel unit, though.

Squirls............ my uncle and aunt were having a problem with them in their yard. they starte trapping them in a safety trap and letting them go in the woods, one day my aunt asked my uncle if he was catching the same ones over and over again, so one day he spray painted a white stripe on one's tail, I am not sure if that same one ever got caught, my mom told me I should have told them we saw a squirl here with a white tail (not a chipmonk) for a joke.

We don't feed the squirrels, we just have a lot of them running around.

Our yard started with a couple of squirrels. Now we have about a dozen that wait around for Troy to feed them.

Becky, I collected a couple shiny ones today while the kids were outside playing. I'll hopefully get them to you by next week, is that ok?

Still passing on the squirrel? LOL!

They are really cute and furry! Today Tanner wanted to feed them while we were outside. Guess what's out there right now eating the peanuts?

We found one smashed pretty flat (and mostly "gone") on the bike trail we were hiking the other day. You could actually see bones, which the kids got into. (Don't worry! They didn't actually touch it, just pushed it around a bit with a stick!) Rachael was commenting, "I think that's the femur!"

    Prayer Rock.....

Wow! those are fancy painted rocks. Paint a rock that is fatter on the bottom and small on top ---frog shape green. Put a ziplock bag over your hand and hold the rock and spray paint it with enemal paint. Bag will keep the paint off your hand. Easy clean up. Glue on wiggly eyes. Cute paper weight. Pet rock or whatever.
----PRAYER ROCK....I'm your little prayer rock and this is what I'll do....Just put me on your pillow till the day is through.....Then turn back the covers and climb into your bed....And WHACK! your little prayer rock will hit you in the head...Then you will remember as the day is through....To kneel and say your prayers as you wanted to.....Then when you are finished just dump me onto the floor.....I'll stay there through night time to give you help once more....When you get up next morning CLUNK! I will stub your toe so you will remember your morning prayers before you go....Put me back upon your pillow when your bed is made....And your clever little prayer rock will continue in your aid.....Because your Heavenly Father cars and loves you so ....He wants you to remember to talk to Him, you know.... Cut a circle of material about the size of a saucer and find any rock a bit larger than a large marble, gather the material around the rock and tie with a ribbon and attach the poem. Becky if I had your address I don't anymore, but we will share a rock from Kansas. Anybody else that wants the rock unit with rock recipes to eat. Send us an e mail that we can attach to and we will share. Please tell us rocks..... Petunia in Kansas PS.... Your Prayer Rock and a cute squirrel pattern (move his tail and it moves the Acorn nut he is eating) is in the mail to you. Left Kansas Thursday.
