A while back I was seeing a gastroenterologist and she wanted me to also see a rheumatologist. I called the dr she had recommended and they wouldn't even give me an appt. She said that they were booked for 4mos and I'd have to call back to try to get an appt after that! Crazzzzzyyyy!!!

Just an idea, but it works.. call the doctor whom you made the appointment with and ask to be put on the list to get in sooner when someone cancels! these days it is almost the only way to get docs moving and getting you to whom you need for help.

I agree with Teacher Mom...also and idea...have you heard the saying "the wheel that squeaks the most gets the oil first"? Maybe if you call the doctor persistently and explain the pain your dh is having they will make it more of a priority to get him seen. If it doesn't work the first time, call again, etc.

Me too I agree with Teacher mom and Hoosier mama you need to scream and yell. I had to last year to get my dh the attention he need and then it was almost to late. SO, Lorna keep yelling and remember we are here for you all.

Thanks for all the kind words and prayers. We really need them. He is out of work now thru August 24. He sees the specialist on the 23rd. We will see what he has to see. I do plan to call on Monday to ask to be put on a list for cancellations.
Some days are just really hard and money is going to get very tight in two weeks when his checks drop to half pay. Right now they are $500 a month short. We have sold some things to help make up that money so far. AND God has provided alot of help too. Doctor bills and medicine are so high priced.

Lorna, I'm so sorry to hear about the difficulties you and your family are going through. My husband has neck problems from a car accident that happened years ago, before we met, and he has to go to a chiropractor every week just to get relief from the constant pain. The drs want him to get surgery on it, but we all know how unpredictable neck and back surgeries are. His best friend is completely out of work due to a back injury that required 3 different surgeries, and he's still in constant pain. Luckily, worker's comp had to pay for all the surgeries and for the first 18 months of pain meds or they would have lost the house, the cars, everything.

As for the money situation, here's a site that I found that pays for articles & helps you set up your own website to get affliate sales through Clickbank, Amazon, and AllPosters.com. They provide hosting for your site, so there's a fee of $30 a month, but you get the first month free, and you can write enough articles to cover your monthly fee. That would only be 6 articles/month. Any more than that & you are in profit. They pay via Paypal, which is free if you don't already have an account. I know of another homeschooling mom who makes around $100-150 profit per month, but you can potentially earn up to $400 profit a month, just from writing articles. It will take awhile to get to that much money a month, but just like everything in life, it takes time and patience to get to the best parts. Okay, the forum isn't letting me post the link, so anyone interested PM and I will send you the link.

Well I need to get started on schoolwork, I'll check back at lunch time.

I was going to let you all know that Thursday I will cut our internet service off due to lack of funds to continue it. We are the same as far as Scott's health. Still waiting on the neosurgeon on the 23rd. Continue to pray for us and I will miss you all.

Have you checked into something like Juno.com? It used to be free, but I don't know if it still is. It is dial-up (I still have dial-up :(). It may have limited hours online, but it would be something. Just a thought...

Anyway, your family is in my prayers!
