Ugh...I hear you. I live in Arizona and we've been 110's for forever now and it will still be hot until November. Not to mention that I'm pregnant and we're trying to save money on our electric bill so keeping the AC at 85-88 degrees. If I'm not sitting directly under the fan I'm melting into a puddle of goo.

You should come over the mountain and get some peaches and corn to do. It is wonderful to have a good harvest! I love being able to put stuff up for the winter. It makes the grocery bill stretch too! I hope you can at least warm up a little bit. Sounds like good weather to come over to the zoo!

    I feel for you!

I was blessed to be able to miss our summer in '97, when I was pregnant with Ems. Handsome had a job up north and the weather was wet most of the time because of El Nino. My sister's told me it was another hot summer down here. Thankfully, I was enjoying the pleasant temps in Pleasanton, CA.

It's been in the low 100's or 90's here for the last week. I was digging the high 80's last week. I only use the central air when we can't deal with the heat by taking shower after shower to cool down. And with school starting later today there's no way the kids will be able to sit down and concentrate in the heat and me trying not to be crabby. We'll see how far we can go without turning it on.

We also have had our air on for a week now, which is driving me CRAZY! It's going to really push the electric bill up, and I KNOW Carl will be asking why!!! But I have to admit, it IS much more comfortable!!!

Fifty plus days off 100+ temps since June here. Pools close next week (during the week) when ps starts. It's too hot to be outside with no pool access, so we'll start school Monday, and take off some days in Sept, when HOPEFULLY it'll be a little cooler out!

I say wait until it's cooler! I was going to start school but my house is a hotbox so I'm not going to start until after Labor Day.

No AC here. We don't have a huge house, but it's 2-story. The upstairs gets soooo hot when it's hot out! We don't have a basement either, so we just melt around the house, and don't do ANY baking or cooking if we can help it!

We had that heat wave, which was hard on all of us Pacific NWerners, since many, many of us don't have AC! But it's been pleasant for awhile, we even got a little rain! It's supposed to be around 90 today, and mid-80's tomorrow, then cool back down to the 70's.

We're starting school on Monday, so hopefully it will be cool enough then!

Another one hovering around 48 deg here today ( 120F), and about 70% humidity.

Good thing the pool is "chilled" to 30 deg (86F).

But- I do feel for you Dawinns. I really struggled with the heat, when we first moved here, as it was much cooler in Melbourne.(Im more of a winter person than summer person)

Im a little worried how we will cope with the change in weather when we move home...lol
Last winter here- I bought a space heater and thermal socks ....it was 15 deg ( 59F), and I seriously, I was suffering!

I have to have AC. Anything over 70 feels too hot for me. I keep the AC on around 72, but would be fine with it cooler. My preferred summer temps are in the 60s so I stay inside most of the summer. Looking forward to Fall!

OK! I got Carl to turn it off this morning! But I also need to do some canning, and I sure would like to have it on for that. Guess I can't have it both ways, lol!

We have been have temp over 100 degrees with heat index of 112-115 here, so I feel for you, but we have been talking about starting school during the summer cause you can't do anything during the day, it is just too hot! I was not able to this yr, but I will next! the girls drive me crazy staying in the house with nothing to do but games and puter time! of course they read, but still , keeping them busy with school is the best idea here!

It is all relevant really. For your location, anything above the normal temperture would be hot. So whine away! LOL

My sister is about 40 minutes from me. She is further into the Mojave than I am. Her temps in the summer reach 120-125. I can't breath when I am at her house; when it is that hot. Even though it is hot for her, she is used to it and can breath just fine.
On the other hand, my sister-in-law is from Colorado. When she visited us in mid to late spring a few years back, she was sweating up a storm because we were around 90-95 degrees, if I remember correctly. We weren't even busting a sweat yet.
    BUT!!!!
When we go to her house in Colorado, we wear sweaters or jackets when some of the youngsters are playing hockey in the street, wearing shorts and t-shirts and there is still snow on the ground! LOL
    YIKES!!!!
