I'm home just for a moment (our pastor's wife is with him). Thank you all SO MUCH for praying for him. The scope will be done between 12 and 1 central. Hopefully we're closer to an answer.
Thanks for the update and letting us know how he's doing. praying for the testing. Glad it seems as though they're taking it more seriously!
I am behind on what has happened in the last day. (Freddy has been sick.) Praying for good news for Eli soon.
Scope showed nothing but normalness. They are keeping him another night....and he now has a feeding tube. More scoping tomorrow.
Hmmm. Wel,, It's good that the scope didn't find anything serious, but it's not good in that you still don't know what's causing the symptoms! Yes, we'll continue praying!
Wednesday update Eli will be in the hospital for at least another day or two. He has a feeding tube but hasn't had but one little feeding with it before he went NPO again last night for his contrast GI today. That procedure hasn't happened yet; not certain on the schedule. Barring a glaring issue on the diagnostics today, they want to see how he tolerates the feedings. Then they'll teach me how to use the tube and send him home (at least that was the plan yesterday. Who knows today.). His biopsy results will be back next week. The biopsies are for allergies, Celiacs, Crohn's, and other stuff, I'm sure. But those were specified.
Anybody in touch with Aime? Hopefully her son is doing much better and they're just busy with the holiday.
Sorry! I somehow missed that Shelby had asked. He's still in exactly the same state as a week ago. So he's better than before the hospital, but still throwing up some.
I just keep thinking Crohn's disease. My oldest has lived with Crohn's for almost 30 years now. He got sick when he was 11. Still praying for your son.
Biopsy ruled out Crohn's. Biopsies ruled out everything. No allergies, no Crohn's, no Celiacs, etc, etc. Nothing at all was out of place in any of the biopsies except for acid damage to the esophagus, which was to be expected with the throwing up.
Amie.. thanks for the update. I still think they are missing something. They have to be.. what kid or person can go this long and vomit as much as he been and be ok. I am with Beth either crohns or ucler. I know when they finally found my ucler I went through the test 3 times. Good luck and hope he is better soon.
