Thanks for the history lesson, Krista! This would make an awesome school project that would be a great way to learn how to research. Patty
Thanks Krista for the info on Dr Pepper and Mr Pibb Mt Dew and Mellow Yellow....yuck. I have tasted them and never liked them. Now my dh is a dif story, he would have Mt Dew running through his veins if possible Emma- Yes, soda study would make a great Lap Book! I can see all the fizz coming out the top now!
ha ha ha fiz coming out the top! I used to drink Mt D in my younger years but my taste has changed, I am not so into sodas as I was back in the day when I would buy a colossal big gulp on the way to work and make it last all work day, then go refill it for the rest of my day as a childrens leader hahah, in those days I Needed lots of soda! haha
DRINK~~~ I believe I was having some health problems that I was putting to a bug going around, but in hind sight I think it was a slight case of heat exhaustion. (tired, weak, fast heart rate, dizzy etc....) So please drink lots of water and juice and stuff.
yep water is the best thing to drink! We have to have ours filtered here but I love to taste water from the tap in different places because it actually tastes different!
I drink-- coffee in the morning, with half and half and a pack of splenda cold iced tea, plain I recently discovered Diet Cranberry from Ocean Spray....oh yummy!! an occasional Diet coke with Splenda....or if I'm at JenErix's....TAB ENERGY! any flavor of Crystal Light except Tea flavored YUCK water...if I feel like it milk if I am having something chocolatey with it....but it's gotta be WHOLE MILK!!
ginger peach tea was not so good, but I am finding peaches are great as fruit but not to drink in teas... I would like the blackberry one though I am sure!
We drink lots of WATER (w/ a purifier), XS energy drinks (no carbs no sugar) and once in a blue moon pop. Tea in the fall/winter Lemonade or crystal lights in the water.. Oh and of course COFFEE every monring..(we buy organic and it rocks!)
okay, I like home grown or fresh produce as much as anyone else but does anyone out there know the websters definition for ORGANIC? Or what an organic substance really is? I think people have taken that word and run with it, kind of like 'lite' foods!
Ok my question is how can we keep EVERYTHING free of sprays and all. Where we live we have a truck that drives up our 3/4 mile drive to spray for mosquitoes and all. In the spring a plane flies over for Gypsy Months and so to call things organic how can we? The coffee we get says organic and cost organic but how can we REALLY know.
Great point! I have some friends who are in to "all natural" chicken; free range and killed only when someone purchases them. For this, they drive almost two hours to purchase their chicken from a chicken farm. They call in advance and the owner kills the chickens and cleans them. When the chicken is picked up, it is still fresh. Here is the problem my friends never looked at. They didn't realize that chickens, even free roaming chickens, when raised in mass, develop mites and other pests on and under the skin. This causes the chickens to pick at themselves until they loose their feathers. Sometimes they will even start picking at each other because chickens are cannibalistic. So when in mass, many farmers will dust their chickens with a pesticide. This goes into the skin to get any mites below the surface. Not to mention diseases that chickens in mass can produce when they are not vaccinated. When she heard this, she went back to purchasing store bought chicken.  Chicken farms that sell fresh, free range chicken are subject to regulations as well. Only they call them all natural and people pay an arm and a leg for it. I told her she should raise her own but she doesn't want to kill them. Patty
Yeah, you have to be careful when buying Organic. There are some items that it really doesn't matter if it's organic or not. As far as drink...I dont' worry about it....I'm stuck on tea and water
thats what Iw as gonna ask, re bugs, we dont buy organic brand stuff, much because last time I bought some Ihad to get all the bugs off of it, then whatever was left of it was not a whole lot! I hate bugs worse than I hate that people have to spray for them for the most part. When I grow my own, I am in control of what I use, we have used dishsoap mixed with water , and vinegar and water too, they are easy and safe for us as we also wash our foods in these when needed!
Oh yes the last lettuce we got was FILLED with bugs, not one of the kids would eat it... So I will not buy that one again.. But yet they will grab the tomatoes and beans right out of the yard and eat them.
I drink water, most economical and the best for me! Sometimes I add lemon or a tea bag, but usually just water. I do drink milk, but not that often, usually when eating chocolate. Kristine
