We made the taco stuff tonight! Rachael did it almost entirely on her own. The kids were fine with the rice in it, I'm pleased to say. Only it really didn't have a strong enough taco taste for me. I think the next time I will use two packages of seasoning. I've got some strawberry recipes, but not handy. I'll look them up tomorrow. I go strawberry picking every summer, and freeze them. This year I also made some freezer jam. Kids complained that I didn't make enough, LOL!
I make that taco recipe all the time and had no idea there was a name for it. I just don't like sloppy taco shells, so I threw it all in a frying pan. I use Old El Paso Cheesy Taco sauce, though, two packets.
sounds really good.I make taco salad.Lettuce ,tomato.onion, black olives and avacado and taco meatwith seasoning
Well... it was going to be chicken until dh decided the chicken was smoking and thought it might be burning and added hot water to a pyrex dish in the oven :!::!::!: It shattered and I stood by shaking my head saying I told you so! He has a huge mess to clean up now - broken glass, the oven itself and all the dishes in the drawer underneath (where all the water and grease spilled into) Do they ever learn?!?
that was his thinking- if the water would have been as hot as the oven (425) it probably would have been ok but it wasn't... Oh well, a laughing moment (at his expense)
Carl and I will be gone this Friday night on a retreat. A friend is coming to watch the kids. Rachael is making dinner. This is what she's making.... Put a package of Chicken Nuggets in a baking dish. Cover with a jar of spaghetti sauce, top with mozzerella cheese and Parmesan cheese, sprinkle with Italian Seasoning. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. My kids like this a lot!
Oh Jackie that sounds wonderful! My dd's love to make homemade chicken nuggets you take boneless chicken breast and cut up in bite size pieces, rasie in water then dip in well beated egg, then roll in crushed corn flakes bake on 350 till done about 5 to 8 mintues. hmmmmm good.
I keep cornflakes on hand for stuff like that. If you can even put them in a container and store them in the freezer so they won't go stale. I use them for my oven-fried chicken.
