    I'm Brenda

We live in New Brunswick, Canada - and have three boys 12, 9 & 5 (almost 6). We began the home schooling venture with our 9 year old in March. I am an LPN and work casual at the local hospital. We will be celebrating our 10th anniversary in October.

    Welcome Anne and Merryyone :D

    Hi!

I'm Heidi, also here from abcteach.
My husband and I live in central Pennsylvania with our two daugthers, ages 10 and 4. We're looking forward to starting 5th and K with them this year.
My books are all here, organized, and ready to go!
This was a good idea to "regroup".
    Heidi :)

It's good to see the rest of you from ABC. I didn't come right over in May...I just lurked around for awhile thinking ABC would start back up. I'm glad Amanda started another place for us! 8) Thanks a million Amanda!

    Hi all ~
I'm Shaina in Southern California! I've been married for 9 years and we have DS 8, DD 4 and DD 2. We'll be starting our 4th year of HSing with 3rd grade and Kindergarten in the fall. I wish I could say I was organized and ready to go - but I'm not.
I can't tell you all how much I appreciate the support and encouragement I get from all of you ladies! What a blessing!

    I'm here!!!!! I'm here!!!!!

I'm Tina, from abcteach. This will be my 5th year of homeschooling!!!!! I have all boys! I have taught PreK, K, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd....I will be teaching 4th this year and 1st AGAIN  :p

The boys are 9,.7 and 4.

We homeschool year around so my curriculum was already in place about 3 months ago  :p I just go right into the next year whenever I get ready!!!!!!! I'm not BTW. LOL

Let's see what else!!!! Oh yes, I have been married 15 years to a wonderfully supportive husband!!!!! and

well Sheila who is here also, and myself are hosting an openhouse/homeschool night on July 20 for more than 200 people. :shock:Its for newbies and encouragement for *oldies* LOL......I went out ALL last week to collect money from local vendors in support of our night....

I was so surpised by the genuine warmth, respect and admiration. On more than one occasion, I spoke with managers who were homeschooled themselves, and Yes I got lots of money too. LOL

Anyway, now She and I are worried about enough room...we may have standing room only!!!!!!! So she and I will speak along with our guest speakers! We are so UN shy that way!!!!!!!!!   :p

    Blessings

I'm Becky, I was at abcteach too for about a year. I have a 17 year old, a three year old ( who act very similar most days!!!), and my husband. Yeah, sometimes it's like having three kids, and my son and husband are the teenagers! We're from Maryland.

I'm Brooke. We live in IL just outside of a sleepy little Mississippi River town. I have an 8yo ds and a 5yo dd. We have public schooled and homeschooled....then public .....and now homeschooling again :D . We have had a stressful few years, but with the Lord's help and chastening, we are back on track and tying up loose ends. My 8yo ds has Tourette's Sydrome (and supposedly ADHD, but his doc took him off meds and he is doing well...coulda been a look-alike condition). Anyway, anyone needing to chat about those special needs feel free to ask....the door is always open!

We are very relaxed with homeschooling, but I am thinking that we all need more organization so structure will be introduced as part of our curriculum this year  . I have most of our books, except history and science, but I am pretty sure I know what I want and need to order them.....in the meantime, my household is busy doing the "Clean Sweep" thing in preparation of their arrival!

Ummmm, let's see.......I will be married 9 years in August to a wonderfully supportive husband. We take the teachable moments, so tonight at 9:30pm my dh was sitting on the floor doing multiplication facts with ds cuz ds was wanting to. It was such a precious thing to see dh taking an eager and active part in homeschooling....I am truley blessed.....so anytime any of you hear me complain about something with our home, remind me of tonight and multiplication tables, okay. :D

Tammy here from abcteach now living in the Mid-west. I've got two great kids and have been homeschooling for five years. My dd is going to be ten in a few days and ds is seven ~ feeling at least ten. And I'm married to my sweetheart almost twenty years. :D

We moved last year and just completed our first year homeschooling here. This is a more regulated state than my last one  . The year worked out fine and now I'm preparing for a few changes for next year. I need to have everything ready for 'review in the fall.' So, for now I'm planning, organizing and getting exceited about next year. :p OR wishing I lived in Texas! Texas has the best hs rules. I working real hard to love what I got.

Our home is 'homeschooling' year around but with a summer schedule. We enjoy our summer reading program and take lots of art, music, poms, T-K-D, and swimming classes. :D

Happy, happy summer everyone and thank you ~ Amanda! :D

Hi! I only posted a few times at ABCTeach. I shared with TinaTx that I was uncomfortable with that msg board b/c it was designated for regular school teachers and I didn't like the feeling there. Tina told me don't worry about that, etc, but I much prefer msg boards designated specifically for those of us who are homeschool teachers. Boy was I surprised when I checked ABCTeach and found out about this new forum. Yippee!! I'm hoping to cozy up here with you folks now that we've got our own "spot"! I'm StacyTea and right now I'm still wavering btwn using my own curric choices and going with Calvert again. I've got to poke around here later to figure out the boards. I'll e you guys later.

Hey Marcia.....I wish you were here visiting around that time too!!!! :D

I have had so much fun actually getting this home school night together. We have received so many generous door prizes from the vendors that weren't able to give money. Frankly, I was shocked at the generosity. Like 50.00 door prizes  Can you believe?

Believe me, I kept the roads hot while the boys were taking a summer architect class with legos, blocks, etc. I had 2 hours to myself and I collected $$$$$$$ Hee Hee!!!! I posted flyers in parts of 3 counties....

Oh well, from the way things are going...we will probaby need to have annual meetings since homeschooling is growing so fast here :D

Hopefully some day, some of ya'll be in my *neck of the woods*.
