La, la, la! I can't hear you! LOL!

I have yet to find either markers or crayons made by another company which has comparable quality!

Really? See, that's where boycotts fall apart for me. All the research you have to do!

I think I was absent the day of the crayola crayon lesson. What's up with crayons?

Just in case anyone needs an alternative, I love Roseart crayons. Very nice quality. Laurentian markers are far superior to Crayola as well.

Still, I'll be happily buying Hallmark stuff. I have gay relatives I'll have to buy cards for at some point! :D

This kind of reminds me of another situation. A lady I use to work with hated Walmart and wouldn't shop there because of their supposed link to sweatshops. She got all upset one day when I told her I shop there, until I spouted off "I'm sorry, but my familes needs are more important than the little boy that may have made my sweater...I can not afford to go off and buy a $30 sweater when I can get one for $10 at Walmart!!!". She then shut up. :)

For some reason whenever I hear "to each is own" when it comes to a "sin"...it is really bothersome to me. I'm not saying anyone is wrong to say "to each is own", I'm just saying that it feels to me, that it's another way of saying "whatever your choice is, that's ok". When in fact, it's a sin, and sin is not ok. KWIM? Not picking on anyone, it's just that I read that a lot on forums. I don't think God would say "to each is own" when we sin. Make sense? So to me, it's not to each is own, but everyone is free to make their own decisions regardless if it is right or wrong.

I do however, think it's pointless to go on an all out "boycott" over things like this. If I dug deep enough, I think everything would be boycotted these days. Like someone else mentioned, a sin is a sin. I have had gay friends, and I still loved/love them like I would love anyone else. I may not agree with their lifestyle and I believe that God thinks it's wrong (just as I do wrong things), but I still love everyone regardless of their choices in life. I had a patient I use to take care of at the chiropractor I worked for. She went to a gay/lesbian church, loved Christ, but still was living in this sin of homosexuality. BUT...don't we all live in some sort of sin? If we dug deep enough I'm sure we'd find adulterers, murderers, molesters, cheaters, liars, coveters, you name it, running very large companies that we shop at or use. Does anyone go and interview the CEO of every company they use? ;) If we dug deep enough there would be some mighty horrible skeletons exposed. Sin is everywhere. Every company is flawed in one way or another, and no matter what will probably "support" something we don't agree with. Just dig deep enough.

And I also totally agree with what Patty said. God writes the messages, we are just the messangers...it doesn't mean people are "judging". Whenever someone in the past has asked me something to the point of "Who are you to judge what is right or wrong", I usually respond with "It's not me, I didn't write the Bible, God did. Don't shoot the messenger". ;) You can still send a message to people while still loving them just the same.

And to answer the questions about boycotting said companies. I would die without my Big Macs. I love Target's clothes, especially their beginning of the season sales when I can buy Aiden shorts or pants for $3. I don't look at the card to see who made it. I love humorous cards, so if it's funny and what I need, I buy it. Crayola is the bomb. I hate off brand, even Rose Art crayons. They break and they suck, IMO. I wont spend another dime on Rose Art. Crayola rocks.

If someone else wants to boycott, more power to you sista! Just don't look for me on the picket line. LOL If you feel God calling you to do so, carry on. I would never buy a gay/lesbian card because then I would feel like I AM supporting the "sin" by buying one, but I wont boybott the company that makes them because those companies also make wonderful Christian-based cards as well that I can use for the good of the Lord. *wink*

Oh, Dawn, I absolutely HATE Roseart stuff! I've yet to get a product by them that I didn't consider junk! Wish I DID like it, because they sure are cheaper!

Jen, you said that very well!

Maybe it's just that I've always had them. I bought a huge class pack of 16 colours at a discount store for $7 about 6 or 7 years ago...Still going through those. :D Never really had a chance to compare them to Crayola.

Of course, now that you mention it I do notice that a lot have broken tips.

I agree with Jen, though I don't generally buy hallmark cards....I get cards from the dollar store! But if I were to get a hallmark card it wouldn't be a gay/lesbian card! That I will not do, just like I'll go to Target though I don't generally shop there at Christmas time (mostly because I get better deals elsewhere). I always buy crayola crayons, and markers, and crayola colored pencils for the kids. I don't agree with peoples choices, but I do still love and care for those people. Just like I feel about my children sometimes, I don't always like the things they do, but I ALWAYS love them!
