Rain in central Ohio, but it's suppose to turn to at least some snow later today. I doubt that we'll get any accumulation...I think it's suppose to hover right around freezing.

just darn right cold here in Tucson. But people wear gloves and coats when the weather is down to 60 here........ since they are more used to 100

When I was in college in Oklahoma, the people from the warm climates would complain about how "cold" it was as soon as it got in the lower 60's or upper 50's. Those of us from the north would sit and laugh at them. They did an article once about Flora Duh who was wearing her heavy winter coat the beginning of October!

We also disagreed about the humidity. Those from Arizona fussed at how "humid" it was in Oklahoma; us Ohioans loved how "dry" it was!

Just started snowing here too. Cold. Kids are waiting for enough to make a snow fort, but I think they'll be disappointed. Baking cookies should be a good substitute!

We haven't had snow yet but I am hoping we get some this winter. It seems to snow less and less around here. Our nights are freezing now. Every morning I have to go out and bust up the animal's water bowls and our water hose are frozen soild but no snow. It is rare for us to get any before winter. Although, I do remember one year getting it on April Fools Day and The Fourth Of July. Now that was freak weather!!!:D
I guess it is a good thing we are not getting any yet. Handsome has a dead line on the building they are working on and he can't make it down the hill if it snows. So it is a good thing.

We still have snow! It snowed about 5-6 inches, then froze, then snowed another one or so, then froze, then snowed a couple more.... It's been great fun for my kids to play in, and the kids here actually had REAL snow days this week! It's unusual for us to have this much snow and for it to last so long if we do! It's supposed to warm up some---may get in the 40's instead of the teens or twenties!

TeacherMom, what part of sunny California do you live in? I find California's diverse geography so fascinating.

Well we have got a least a foot or more. And still snowing. My hubby says come on over the walks are still not clean. You can take all you can carry. But from the walks first. I love it. I would love to get a very big snow. I would love for my son to have the snow like I had when I was a kid. It was great.

The way I understand it Oklahoma got snow yesterday!

When I was pregnant with Ems, Handsome was running a job in Tracy. The boss put us up in some condos in Pleasanton. We often went to San Francisco. We came back in the middle of November because Ems was due in early December. I remember it raining a lot. I do not know if it was because of El Nino or if this was regular weather but I remember it being really wet.
Is this normal for this part of California? I wish we would get more rain. I am sure I am exaggerating but I think we get more moisture from snow then rain and even this we do not get on a regular basis anymore.

I went to college in that area. San Francisco is moister---more fog in that area. Where I was didn't get as much rain and fog. My dh lived in Dalyy City and dealt with LOTS of fog, which meant lots of accidents, cuz people would drive too fast in thick fog...

I can't stand the fog. We had to enroll our daughter in school when we were up north and I remember driving in the fog at times to pick her up. It was scary.
We get a lot of fog at the pass but I rarely drive down the hill so I do not have to go through it. Praise God!!!!

I grew up in Upstate NY. In '83, the day I left for Basic Training it was snowing like crazy. By the time I arrived in Alabama the next day NY had 20 inches of snow!! It was April 20. My mom reminded me of the time we had a snow storm just before Memorial Day. We remembered the timing because it killed the lilacs and we didn't have any for the Memorial Day parade.

Right now it is very windy and warm-Joyce is in a tank top! We rarely get snow down here, but I do remember one winter when we lived on Fort Jackson that they had enough snow to close school for several weeks. I had to go to work because I lived on the base. BUT, down here 1-2 inches is considered alot!!
