We got snow today! It is even sticking. Today was the first time my 18 month old saw snow and could respond. She said...."oooooo, what's dat?" She was very excited! I do love to look at snow. So Jackie, how is your part of Ohio doing? My mom is in Elyria and she didn't get snow today. The snow she got yesterday already melted.
None here, though the kids told me twice "IT'S SNOWING!!!" By the time I got to the window, all the flakes they saw had melted. I once heard that Port Columbus was opened more than any other airport of comparible latitude.
What a good picture taker you are!!! Mine never look so nice!!! Yesterday, at one point, the ground actually had snow on it. Technically, there's a little white on the ground right now. But it's no more than what you see in Apple's picture. Interesting thing my DH told me. Last year, his school district decided to cut the school day by about 45 minutes. As a result, he claims that they have NO Snow Days this year! That is just plain DUMB on the part of the idiots who run the district. There are some years when we don't use any Snow Days, but there are also years when we need 3 to 5!
The pictures are very nice. You must be way up north of Texas to get snow. We haven't gotten anything down here in South Texas. Want to send some down to me.
I love the pictures! She looks as if it snowed just for her. That is what people around here look like when it rains. We are so excited to see a few sprinkles in the sky and run outside with our tongue in the air. We get such little rain, I am surprised Ems even knows what it looks like!!!:? Patty
That is crazy Jackie! I remember years when we ran out of snow days and actually had to stay in school for a couple of extra days. It is so cold here right now I wish it would snow to justify being so cold. My hands are stiff from having to go out and untangle one of the dogs and get her tied back up. We are supposed to be in the 40's today and teens tonight!
Great pictures. I love seeing kids in the snow. Just makes me smile. She look so happy. We still have lots of snow on the ground. But tomorrow its going to be 40 here so I'm sure it will start to melt.
That's exactly what's going to happen, Jen. The year Rachael was born was VERY bad. Many districts had up to two weeks closed because of the weather, especially in southern Ohio on the more rural routes. It was a one time happening, so the legislature passed an emergency bill giving them more leniency about snow days for just that one year. It cut the school calendar back about five days. Even so, many of the districts had to make up a few days. Columbus didn't use the "new" allotment up, but they decided to go by the "old" rules, and make up two days anyway. Teachers already had vacation plans made, some were scheduled to attend college classes out of state, etc. It was a mess!!! The principals were going around asking who would be there and who wouldn't. Carl honestly didn't know! My baby was due at just that time, and whether he was there or not was dependent on what the baby did. She ended up coming on the LAST "official" day of school, but there were complications. So he missed two of the extra days, and went in on the third.
No snow here, though it is FREEZING! It was in the teens last night. If it's this cold, there should be snow!
