Okay, the calendar is stupid enough; but not being able to do your job because of where she put the bra I have heard it all. I want to know why people are so stupid.

wow, she got to walk out with the bra?? Why doesn't everyone put the bras and panties on and then walk out. It would be free underwear forever since they can't stop you. That is really dumb.

Hey, I never thought of it that way! That would be a fun girls night out, wouldn't it?! Just make sure to wear thin white t-shirts so the mangers know they've been taken.

Side note: Dh was put on suspension and it was "found" that it was a considered a "bad stop" and went on his record. He had a couple of other times he stopped people and Walmart let them go becaue they were either "too young" or "too old". Yep, you heard me. There is a reason that people put their kids up to stealing for them. And you wouldn't believe how many grannies shoplift but Walmart won't prosecute them. Hate to offend children or the elderly who steal.

Oh, good to know. I need a few things from the store today, so if I just sent my 5 yo in to "get" them for me, it'll all be good. I see a whole new financial future for us, now!

I am going to fire up the jet and go pick you ladies up we are going to go get free bra's and panties then we will send the little ones in for food, oh no I don't want to do that to the little ones, I will find some Grannies that will do it. They have nothing to lose. Be ready ladies. Mom's night out.

sounds like a plan. I think we should also see if we can get some of those calendars with our food and undies! Then maybe they really won't be able to stop us since we will be armed and dangerous!

My mother works part time in the shoe section at our Wal Mart. One night a couple came in and put beer in the carrier their infant was in and walked right out with it. The manager didn't stop them even though some of the employees warned him they were doing it. The employees had seen them put the bottles of beer around the baby but nobody even tried to stop them. I just don't get it.

Recently there was a story in our paper about a WM employee that stopped a shoplifter and got fired- because she was a customer service employee and not a loss prevention employee.

I worked for Walmart years ago and it was a big deal that you could not stop customers or say anything to them if they were shoplifting.

I saw many people walk out of walmart with all kinds of stuff. Heck this one guy bought something stupid like a few candies or something. Well he comes back in with the receipt walks back to the electronics department grabs a few things. Walks through the check outs ( you know around the people) waves the receipt like he payed for it, they let him pass with out checking it and there he goes out the store. He was caught later that month after review of the camera stuff that he was in often and "purchasing" electronics.

Now recently I was shopping in Walmart and was in the shoe isle, there was a lady with like 6 kids. Well she had them all lined up after they found all their shoes they wanted. Now me being a person who tends to pay attention and yet not say anything. Okay I stare. I noticed she put a pair of shoes on one kid, took his old ones and put them in the box and the kid walked off. Okay nothing big, right. I figured the kid wanted to wear them. Then I see her do it again. So, I walk to the next isle where I see the first kid putting the box back on the shelf with the old shoes in it and walks off with the new ones on his feet. So, I step back and watch this whole thing. She did it with all the kids, employees, customers all kinds of people have walked by and not one payed enough attention to realize what she was doing. Well I kept acting like I was shopping for shoes, which I could not find any I liked (imagine that). She payed no attention to me even. She acted like she was in the right and was doing nothing wrong. Well she did it with all the kids, they all had new shoes on, without tags and she left. I am still in shock from this. I just cannot believe that people do this and get away with it.

I did want to say something, but after working for Walmart and knowing their ways I knew it was pointless.

I do wonder if that is how her kids get clothes also. I mean she looked as if they were a well off family. I guess you can be if you don't have to buy anything. Huh?

And so I go into Meijers. I got something on clearance, and went to pay for it at the self-checkout. I had trouble with it, so the lady came and helped me. But she couldn't get the buzzer thing to de-activate. Told me not to worry about it, that when it went off all I had to do was show my receipt to the lady. (And this was the ONLY thing I bought, btw!). So sure enough, it went off. I showed my receipt to the lady, and she gave me ALL KINDS of grief. I explained what had happened. Well, this lady told me how the first lady didn't do it right, and she was WRONG for letting me just take off with it, etc. She went and tried to check it out "properly" and couldn't (HA!!!) The first lady saw her and came over and explained the problem. The second one pretty much told her to MYOB. Well, she finally gave up, but I was SO mad about it! So if I maybe I should have just walked off without trying to pay....

I think this is the most pages for one post I have seen on here. I go away for vacation and miss soooo much, lol. I love all the stories. Just another reason we call it "Wally World". It truly is a world unto itself.

My son had a job unloading shipments from the trucks. There were times that items were thrown into the dumpsters in back. Several employees had taken things out of the dumpsters and my DS had seen them do it. He asked one if there was any policy against it and was told no, it was trash anyway and the manager didn't care. You have probably guessed that the first time my DS grabbed something he was taken to the manager, questioned on why, then walked out by security and told he no longer had a job and could not return to that store. The rest of the family doesn't shop there anymore either.

Oh, yes. Dumpster diving is NEVER okay. And here is why....
    1) anything damaged has to be documented thoroughly by the Loss Prevention officer for business reasons
    2) there was one employee who worked in receiving that was tossing stuff outside, driving around when his shift was over and picking up a truck-bed full. Since he was the receiving mangager, he was the last to leave. The cameras caught him doing it. At the time he had close to $1000 worth of electronics. No clue how much he had gotten by with for years before the cameras were installed.

I never let Jeannie wear new shoes out of the store-of course I'd be paying- because I'm afraid of how it will look.

    It happened to me!

WM isn't my favorite store, but I hadn't run into much of what you all have talked about.

Then I went yesterday. I needed three - only three things. Of course, I could only remember two, and I just knew the thing I was forgetting was important. Drat. So I walked around a bit until I remembered (laundry detergent! Aha! I knew it was important!). As we were heading to get it, I spied the back to school sales, and told my children they could each choose one item and I would buy it for them. One got colored pencils, two got markers - I thought they were washable.

Then I went to self-checkout. Ugh.

The machines were constantly going down/freaking out/having nervous breakdowns. But I didn't know that yet, so I'm scanning away, enjoying the fact that ALL my children are behaving (YAY!), and I realize one set of markers isn't washable. Drat. The aisle is close by, but still not close enough to send the 7yo to get washable markers alone, so I figure I'll just get them and sort it out later. I scan the not-washable markers (name brand, non-toxic), and everything stops. The machine sends up a big alert that it MUST have staff come to the machine. No option to not buy the item, I just have to wait. I waited a long time because of the other malfunctioning machines, thought about just picking up my stuff and going to a staffed check out, when finally a nice lady came over. She starts typing in codes, and the machine asked her to verify that I was over 18. I was curious to see what the machine had scanned the code as, because surely this a UPC mis-entry, right?

Nope. It immediately came up as the name brand, non-toxic markers, $1.

So I was staring at the screen, trying to assimilate this, and the WM lady sees my face and starts telling me, "No, it's not you! It does this - please don't ask me why, it doesn't make any sense..."

Couldn't help thinking about this thread.

Went to Gideons' and Auxiliary meeting last night, but my WalMart manager Gideon brother wasn't there, so I couldn't ask him about what could possibly be dangerous about a calendar. :^P

So many reasons I don't like wal-mart but um...it's ILLEGAL to not sell you something they have on the store floor.

It doesn't matter if they have tagged it dangerous or the FDA has pulled it (well, the store can get fined 1,000's if the FDA says pullit and they don't...but I digress...) if their employees haven't gotten around to pulling something-they have to sell it.

Me and my 25 years of retail (and 15 in management) and all the LP and law training is where I get that info from....Once again-you're better than me. My butt would have taken up that line AND I'm a loud mouth so EVERYONE would've known.
