Maybe you should consider it to be an honor to be kicked out of Walmart.

The same thing happened to me! LOL!! (I wasn't kicked out, though.) It was for a boys' belt. A belt?! It had been recalled, so they weren't allowed to sell it, BUT they could leave it on the shelf until they got around to getting it down. Hello? I searched and searched and searched for that EXACT belt. Seriously. Come ON!

I've been to wal mart to make a purchase and they've refused to sell it to me because of one dumb reason or another. Actually I can remember this past winter DH was really sick and I went to purchase him some cold medicine. I bought several items because I wasn't sure what he wanted and would make him feel better. The clerk refused to sell me any of it because I didn't have my ID on me at the time to prove that I was over 18...SERIOUSLY? I've got three children with me, one of whom is 6 years old, and he won't sell me cold medicine because I didn't have ID.

Once it was a baby bassinet that they wouldn't sell me because of a recall ( I didn't want it once I was told it was recalled), but seriously they should have removed it from the shelf so that I didn't think it was an option!

They should remove recalled items from the shelf or floor whatever, as soon as it's recalled. I work at Acme, {a grocery store} and when something is recalled, we immediatly remove it from the shelf, and post a sign, saying the item was recalled and that if you recently bought it, you could return it.

When I told my dh about this, he just looked at me (you know what I mean - just looked) at me -- and said, "They'll sell you guns and ammunition, but not a calendar??????"

There is a brother-Gideon of ours who is a WalMart store manager. If I can remember when we see him next, I'm going to ask him about this!!!

    It wasn't recalled.

They said the code was meant for items that WALMART had deemed dangerous, not recalled. In other words, they would no longer sell it, but they would't give you a refund or anything if you had already purchased one (I asked about that specifically at one point). And it was the store (well, corporate office), not the brand.

If they can't sell the calendar and they don't feel like taking it off of the shelves, you should have asked to have it for free. You could offer to clear the shelf for them and pass out the calendars to all of your hss buddies. ;)

Oh, I couldn't do that! I mean, I care about you all far too much to subject you to the known potential homocidal tendencies of this particular calendar. I couldn't live with myself if you woke up one morning, murdered in your bed.

    (Coming late to this conversation....)

Beth, DO NOT hang out with Ohio Mom!!! She is a DANGEROUS CRIMINAL posing as a hs'er!!! She almost had ME arrested at a park here in Ohio when she made an illegal u-turn!!!

Aimie, when I was college the Walmart wasn't built yet. We hung out at Kroger's. But I LOVE the idea of you in a trash can! Sounds like something we would do!!!

Just a thought....now that I realize it wasn't recalled....calendars on clearance aren't returnable because of the nature of the item (ready to expire kinda logic). I wonder if the employees involved misinterpretted what the computer was saying...like you can purchase it, but not return it. I did a little time at the refund counter at Jack's (now Shopko) years ago, so you know I know how it all goes down. ;)

It wasn't on clearance. And it was a blank calendar, so I don't think that would have applied (meaning you had to write in the days and months).

A friend found them at a differen Walmart and tried to buy 10. lol. They wouldn't sell them there, either. Stating the same "they're dangerous" reasoning.

Amy, do you need a note from your dh to purchase things like computer paper and pencils for school? I can only imagine the damage you can do with a pencil for goodness sake.

Now I have to go look for them at our Walmart just to see what they look like and to find out how dangerous they are. Hey if I buy one and carry it out in a Walmart bag could I get charged with carrying a concealed weapon? This may get even more nutty!

You would probably be charged with carrying a concealed weapon with the intent to kill, ummmm, I mean cut! Hey, thankfully SOMEONE is watching out for us. Do you know just how nasty a paper cut can get? Infection, staph, amputation, thank God Wally World is looking out for our best interest.

I'm still puzzled though, why did they leave something so dangerous on the shelf, they acted like you were trying to buy a LOADED gun. Maybe you were being punked! LOL

    Bahahahahahaha.

    Nice.

My best friend and I were talking today. She said that the craziest things always happen to me. Like, the kind of stuff that you can't really make up. We came to the conclusion that my life got switched with someone who was supposed to be a stand-up comic. So I get all the joke foder they were supposed to, but I'm not funny enough to make use of it.
