Ava Rose, Love the pictures! I THOUGHT there was red hair in the little one's picture, now I see it "loud and clear" in the other one!

I have no clue how to do that. People try to tell me, and I can never find the right buttons. Maybe one of these days..........

I understand. The world outside of Christianity is sold on the idea that Christians all think knowledge and logic is bad. I wouldn't see it so much except I have a habit of reading apologetics debate forums (Weird habit I know!) and they are FULL of that idea. It makes me kind of sad that they think that sometimes. I don't hink it's all based on the tree of knowledge thing though, I think a big part of it is a misunderstanding of Faith, As in what it means to have faith in God.

Apologetics is: The branch of theology that is concerned with defending or proving the truth of Christian doctrines.

So there are various forums (like this one for posting) that are set up specifically where people argue/debate every Christian Doctrine ever known. Often it's a bunch of Athiests trying to convince Christians that they are wrong and vice versa. I wouldn't post to forums like that because they'd eat me alive and then spit me back out! Not what I'd refer to as a friendly place. It's a rough way to learn stuff! BUt I do go and read where others are arguing. it helps me understand some things better and all the wrong doctrines that come up help me know more my making me think about it and study and look up all the right answers instead. Before I read these forums I didn't realize that Athiests are somethimes more active than Christians in trying to get people to believe like they do!

I started the habit of reading those forums when I was just starting College and I found a Forum specifically set up for people of diffrent religions to ask questions of one another, but some guy came in and started Demanding of every poster that we couldn't talk about God unless we first proved HE existed. Several people took him up on his debate offer and he sucessfully managed to break up the group but in the process I got my first intro to apologetics debates and how many questions they gave me so I could find tons of jumping off points for study and even tons of references. It also helped me alot when my Fieance decided to become an Athiest suddenly, I already knew what arguments were common and had some info on ways to counter them.

If you are new to all this reading them might just be confusing because they often nitpick stuff like: Was the thing that swallowed Jonah a Whale or some other kind of Fish? Where did Cain get a Wife? and sometimes Questions that even contradict themselves. they ask stuff like that to try and make Christians look dumb because there are answers, but since Chruchs focus on bigger things like the trinity, lots of Christians don't know the right answers. Often the Christians have to have really good responses to the nitpicky questions to move on to things that actually matter when you are learning about the nature of God.

    Thank you!
But what a weird name, apologetics? Sounds like they are Apoologizing for something.

Also, I have those same questions about who Cain married, but not looking to start a fight. I would be geniuinly (SP?) interested.

Thanks Deena! It took me a while to figure it out. I am one of those people who has to do and show how to do it. I am not good at explaining. However, through trial and error I finally figured it out. When you choose to change your avatar you choose custom. Then you hit browse and it will allow you to browse through your computer for your scans or pics. Then you select the pic you want. Most likely you will have to shrink it. So you need to go to your photo/pic software first and shrink it down. Then go back and place that pic as your avatar. I made it worse, didn't I? lol. It really is easy once you figure it out.

Cain 's wife was one of his sisters. That sounds wrong now, of course, but there wasn't anyone else back then.

Yep, interfamily marriages were not a wrong thing until family lines were so intertwined it became a physical problem.. I am not sure when that was, but even Jacob Married from his mothers distant relatives.
I think in England just before our contries here on North American side were established were still marrying cousins.... rather odd to us but it was how it was done back then.

God made Adam and Eve in His image and they were Perfect Humans until they disobeyed God in the Garden and then there were concequenses that lead to them eventually having to die and suffer other problems. Incest was not a problem because they didn't cause genetic Defects because they didn't; have those other consequences.

Also back then Childbearing years were extremely long. So in Adams 900 years he could have had Thousands of decendants. Check out the chart at http://www.reasons.org/resources/apologetics/cainswife.shtml She could have been a sister or a niece or a cousin by then... we don't know how young Cain was when he got married, but there were plenty of choices if he waited till later in life.

Obviously some of Adam and Eve's Children Married one another in the early years.

Well, if you think about it, it would have been impossible to avoid incest if we wanted to populate the Earth. Seems weird now, but there was no other way.
