Economic Stimulus Rebate

I was curious about the Rebate since we never get a tax refund, we just end up paying more taxes in addition to what the govt already forcefully confiscated.

Anyway, here is a rebate calculator from the IRS web site so you can see if you will get a rebate.

Thanks! That calculator much be recent, as I was all over the IRS website gathering info for a friend just last week and never came across it.

Anyhow, that was the most useful tool I've found to date.

The news said last night that the rebates will be sent out according to the last 2 digits of the primary's ss# on your 07' return. The lower the last two numbers, the quicker you get the rebate.

 

Wooohoooo! DH's number ends in 0X (the 'x' is obviously a number, but I'm paranoid). rofl. I guess we'll be pretty high on the totem pole this time.

 

We are 1X!

 

We're 8X. It'll be later for us.

 

We will get ours pretty quickly then!!!

 

we will be in the middle 5x, but we sure could use that money. I over spent on books this year.

Link to the dates of when the rebates will be sent out, depending on the ss#.
Also depending on direct deposit or paper check.

 

I heard we were supposed to get a letter in the mail from the IRS about this. I never got one. Did anyone else get one? I don't know dh's ssn off the top of my head and he didn't answer when I called. Must be busy. Anyway I am just wondering.

 

We got ours yesterday. It is a folded paper with info on it stating you could get a rebate. They are sending those notices to people who filed a return last year.

I posted a link a second before your post and you can see when your rebate will come.

 

And they spent millions sending them :roll:

 

Well shoot fire I haven't gotten a letter yet. I just talked to dh and his number is 6X so it'll be a while for us. I still want my letter!!! And thanks for posting those links!

 

Did I read correctly, if you have your tax return directly deposited they will direct deposit your rebate?
If so, everyone who does this will have their money in early May.

 

Thanks for the links. It will be nice to know when to expect this. When we e-filed our taxes it mentioned that if we direct deposited the refund the stimulous money would also be direct deposited.

 

That's my understanding, as well.

Looks like the latest us Direct Deposit people will have our rebate will be May 16th.

 

yes we got an automated letter explaining the formula for how much we'll get.




I'm not sure what my DH's ss # is but wish they went by mine I know its lower!!

 

There's only a two week difference in the first and last dates, so it's not like it would make a huge difference. But still, the sooner, the better.

 

I found the irs calculator to be quite helpful and more precise.

 

That's what I though, too. Ours was direct deposited, so I guess we'll be in the last group of those deposits. Mid-May is good though.
