Try doing the rebate calculator to see if you are going to get a check.

It also says the info isnt available until you are due the rebate check. Ours was due today and the status was available last night.

Our rebate check appeared in our acct this morning, I checked my checking acct on line and saw the deposit.

I've already done that, and we are supposed to get a rebate. Dh's social ends with 8X, so we are at the end of the line.

If you had direct deposit you should get the rebate check May 16th or July 4th for paper.

You will probably be able to check the status when it is closer to when you are supposed to get your check.

I am glad that we got a little something because we had to pay again.

I did mine and it showed the payment was scheduled for today. The irs web site did say that the info is not available until your payment is scheduled to be deposited or sent.

    When is your check scheduled?

Put in ssn, filing status and # of exemptions. You wouldn't need your tax papers to know if you filed jointly, how many you claimed on your return (you, hubby, kids) and his ssn.

DRATS!! we were impatient and got a rapid refund through H&R Block. The money was deposited on a reloadable bank card that they issued. We were told to hold onto the card because that's how our rebate would come BUT..... When we called we were told that we would be getting a paper check. Hmph! Looks like it will be here the end of June.

Taxpayers are supposed to receive a break on their federal payroll taxes from $7.00- a month.

    We got ours.................................

    YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My dh gets paid once a month and we got a whole .56 CENTS MORE in his check. That breaks down to about 14 cents a week! Well, if this was the 1940's, 56 cents would probably be a lot of money but since it is 2009, it really won't buy much. Perhaps a can of tomatoe sauce?

Any ideas on how we can spend our 56 cents more per month to STIMULATE the economy?

ROFL I've forgotten to check that. Dh doesn't always get his stubs, since his checks are on direct deposit and the managers aren't there to open the office when he works (in the middle of the night).

But there's an 8K credit if you buy a house! :D

I think the $8K is for first time home buyers.
We bought our house years ago and still making payments.

Right! Sorry, guess I didn't think about that part. We *are* first time buyers! :D

The determining status for "first time buyer" is just that you haven't purchased or owned a home within the past 3 years... so it wouldn't have to be the first, but I suppose that if you hadn't owned in the past 3 years it either *would* be the first or your credit likely wouldn't allow many purchases anyway. LOL

    Anyway. Yep!

I guess someone sent Obama a letter telling him how to "fix" the economy. First, he would "force" the retirement of all workers over a certain age. This would provide openings for younger workers. Next, he would give EACH of those retiring $1,000,000. But there are strings attached to that money. They would have to buy a new American-made car with that money (stimulating the auto industry) and pay off their mortgage (stimulating the housing industry). And it would cost a WHOLE HECK OF A LOT LESS than what they're currently doing.

I agree, the money the govt has already thrown away has not really helped the American people. It has been corporate welfare!

One financial institution who received a lot of money didnt allow that money to help me, they raised my apr% from 9% to 19.99%. If I didnt want to pay the hire rate I had to agree to close my acct., which we did. I called the co and they said they were raising everyone's rates and that was the cost of doing business. I asked about all the money the govt gave them and there was silence!

I don't agree though with forcing certain ages to retire, that is too socialistic to me. A friend of mine who is 69 still works at the post office and LOVES her job and LOVES to work. I would not like it if someone forced her to stay home.

Had the govt given that $$ to the American people to pay off thier credit cards and morts. that would have been money well spent. The people would now be debt free and the lending corporations would now have all their money back in the form of debt being paid off.

With the president firing the ceo of GM Motors and the govt backing warranties and buying up companies, that really scares me. Do the words Soviet Union come to mind?
