It's Friday! Time to check in if anyone would like to. Any measures of progress that you're proud of. I'm down 2 pounds this week. I tried on my dress pants for a wedding I'm flying out to next week and they finally fit comfortably. My bra! Whoo hoo! It's not tight anymore and my cups do not overfloweth. My husband had fixed feelings about that. My arms have gotten stronger as upper body workouts aren't the struggle they were. I have also had to step up my cardio to make it more challenging and I can now do (albeit not very gracefully) a yoga workout on Yourself Fitness that I struggled with before. It's been a big week for me and I'm looking forward to what others have to report!
I wish I had something to report. This silly ol' ankle has been my undoing this week. I really wish I had a set of hand weights, then I could at least be working abs and arms. Hmmm. I think I might have to post for them on freecycle.
That's a good idea! I'm getting a little tired of using canned goods for weights , I think I'll check my local freecycle.
Hi all. I was doing a "Healthy Livin" thread for a while, and then the site stopped allowing me to post so I haven't been on for weeks. Finally this morning, after signing in three times I GOT ON!! I think a weekly thread would be an encouragement to all- we had a couple of people posting. I too, have a hard time eating breakfast. I was doing well earlier this summer, but now gained back 10 pounds and am discouraged!! So some support from others would be wonderful!! I'll join in and post when I can- is someone volunteering to start us- and what is the thread going to be called so we can all find it quickly?? MT3
Ok.. I guess 11 am isn't too late to eat breakfast. I should at least eat something, right? Time to scavenge, I suppose.
Now that my one son is off at school, my other two kids and I can get down to business--schoolwise AND exercise wise! We are all 3 walking the dog at least once a day. We don't walk slowly, I try to keep the pace up so they reap the benefit. My 13yo ds is the one that has a hard time exercising. I need to get him into shape! He's not fat at all, but he needs the cardio to keep healthier! This is the first thing I've worked on in our new schedule---a healthy exercise routine! We still have to work on what he eats. DD eats very healthfully most of the time. She's a skinny-minny like I used to be, so I'm not worried about weight issues with her. She LOVES sweets, so I try to keep that to a minimum. I think I'll look for a "Healthy Kids" workout video, so that when it gets too cold to get out for walks, we have an alternative. Actually, we have a treadmill, and last year my younger two started using it sometimes, and liked challenging themselves, so we'll probably incorporate that also. As for myself, I lost a couple of pounds, and for the last couple of weeks have stuck right at that level--not losing, but not gaining either. I think as the healthier eating and consistent exercise kicks in I'll see some more changes there! Gotta lose about 15 more pounds and get toned up! JACKIE: Have you checked for specials at your local Curves?
My son (12 and bigger then most) and I started working out this week. We went for a 20 min. walk yesterday and then today we 20 weight training and 20 min walk. We will be increasing the walking time. I hope. No weighing or measuring at this time. Just working on the getting active part and eat a little healther.
How's everyone doing? I'm still staying around the same weight-wise. But I'm finally doing well at drinking a good amount of water each day, and am getting exercise of some sort each day. 2 days ago it was mowing the lawn---whew, that's hard work, since we don't have a flat yard! I need to do some toning exercises and eat a little more healthfully....
