I was so excited!!! I got home from cleaning the church this morning and what do I see??? A box sitting by my front door, addressed to me and I screamed like a child. My gift, my gift!!! That sounds more like a spoiled child! Well, I look at the sender and my heart sinks. It is a set of dolls I ordered some time back. Granted, I do like them a lot but I wanted my gift! Waaaaaa!!! I am a mess because of this exchange. I am still excited none the less!! Patty
I got my package today too. I got a cute bird shelf sitter, some note card/stationary, homemade cookies for hubby and family, candy bars, dish towel and oven mitt with Christmas on them, lovely ornaments, two cross stitched pieces---- the first a sign for my village saying Holcombe Village and the second a very pretty bookmark. It was so pretty and very nice. Lots of work went into both of those items. I really appreciate it all alot. This is exciting!!!!! OH Sabrina sent it to me. Sabrina, I did have a little problem. I will private mail you on it. Lorna
YEaaah Sabrina I am glad you enjoyed them there shoudl be a bracelet on a candy cane for your dd too! My dd made her it. She makes and sells bracelettes as a side thing. So its a Miresa original! OOOOOO!!!! hehe okay, I am the Moose Lady , the reason being that when I first met my grand mother inlaw I had pulled my foot out of the socket ( ankle) at Yellowstone while walking down a hill to see a waterfall.... I was givne two kinds of pain pills and spent a few hours visiting with the grama. So I rambled on and on abotu stories! We talked of my step dad kissing deer by eating a cookie, or putting one in his mouth, and about a baby moose running through our camp at Yellow Stone... well somehow with all that the following came about! " I was raised by moose in the wilds of Canada! My real mother's voice is the only thing that my moose mom would allow me to follow and go to. Other wise I ran with the moose and everything lol! I am writing a children's folk tale about it because its too fun! I was not raised by moose, in reality, but I did grow up in Canada haha! So there is a small town in South Dakota that really things its true! She told the whole town, and when we visited again they looked at me funny, I did not understand why they would whisper and point at me and stuff.. I mean Im not that funny looking hehe... so anyway, eventualy I found out the whole family has this story now too and So we get me Moose things because of it! So I am the Moose Lady of South Dakota! ta da! Btw I am glad you liked your stuff! And deena I will try again with the candle maybe I just was doing it wrong? HUGs to you both! Be blessed! Tmom
I GOT MINE!!! It only took two days to get here! Does that narrow it down as to who sent it?!! I got 2 home-made bird houses that can be hung on the tree, a wonderful smelling home-made cinnamon candle in a canning jar, and absolutely gorgeous home-made note cards. My girls were included also-Jane (16) received some body spray and Joyce (11) received CHOCOLATE lip balm and some lip gloss. The chocolate smells delicious. Okay, have I held off long enough on the sender? Hint- she's from California. Not enough? OKAY! Patty, thank you soooo much. I love the fact that you took my post to heart about wanting something that reflects the sender. This made it even more special! The bird houses were really neat. That has been my "binge" right now, paint and wood stuff to work on. I just finished a recipe box last night. The girls and I have had fun making things. Pansies are one of my favorite flowers and Patty made several of the notecards with pressed ones. These were a flower that my grandmother loved and grew. I remember them as being so tough they would grow up through the snow!! She passed away in 1986 and I always associate pansies with her. The girls loved what they got. I swear Jane is addicted to perfumes and body sprays!! Joyce is more of a tom-boy but has started wearing lip gloss in the past year. We had to laugh about your handwriting, Patty. Jane and I both thought the box was from my sis, Beth, as you both write almost alike!! This has been a rough week and this was such a blessing. Thank you so much!!! The pix were nice also. She enclosed some photos of her garden. Jane really enjoyed this as she spent the summer in L.A. 4 years ago and was commenting on the looks of the area. My hubby has family out that side but I haven't been out that way since our honeymoon. I have my candle burning now, I almost didn't light it!! I don't know if I will have the heart to send the cards to anyone!! Thanks again, Patty and Emma! Tell Emma she was right on target with the girls. Again, thank you for taking what I said about something reflecting the person because it really truly made this even more special!! I can't wait until my person gets hers!! Jennifer
Jennifer, I just screamed when I read your post!!!! I am so happy you enjoyed it. I have been peeking at my email all day to see if you posted on this thread. I am praising God it arrived. They told me it would arrive by Saturday. OHHH, how exciting! The part about the handwriting is funny. Now I can tell Handsome that somebody else writes just like me! Emma will be pleased your girls liked their gift. She obviously knows better then me. I wasn't to sure about the body spray. She is still having a bit of a time grasping the distance between California and South Carolina but she knows it is far, far away. I am so glad you like it. God bless!!! Patty
I've been sitting here longer than I should to make sure you got the post!! I was about to give up and check later! Emma was right on with the spray. I love the smell too! I've been looking for Lily of the Vally spray if anyone ever spots any give me a shout as to who makes it!! Well, I better get supper going and I've got a fussy grandbaby who just woke up. BTW, the candle has the house smelling wonderful!! Thanks again! Jennifer
Jennifer, I love pansies too. They are so hardy and they scatter their seed, so usually, unless it is really dry, they grow back every year to show their pretty face. What I love is how delicate they look when they are pressed. They have a frilly, lacy look. I am glad you enjoyed them and I am glad it reminded you of your grandma. Patty
ONe more down! Guess it's you 'n me left Patty! Hey TMom, are you sure Patty's and my names were gotten by someone?
LOL Thanks Kris! I don't really NEED to get anything, I just have fun putting stuff together. When I do these things, even when I was a child, I usually ended up being the one that the person forgot to give something to, or had dropped out and nobody replaced them or something, so honestly, I'm used to NOT receiving back, and that's okay with me! Honest! It's just funny how it seems to work that way!
Oh, Deena I don't want to leave you out here. I will do something if nothing comes to you. TMOM does someone have her name if not let me know by pm me and I will make sure she gets something. PLEASE she is a wonderful lady and we don't want to leave anyone out.
Well, ladies, if we do not receive a gift, I will bust out my violin and serenade us with a sad tune. Not sad because we did not get a gift but sad because we will be crying once I am done. I couldn't play a tune if my life depended on it...but it is a nice gesture. Patty
