    He got the interview!!!

Dh got the call this morning (a day late) that he ws chosen for the interview. They are now in the process of deciding when the interview will happen. SA wants him there next Tues/Wed. and his current boss is saying not until after camp is over. The man who will be interviewing will be out for 2 weeks after next week, so that would push the interview to the first week of Aug.-- much later than the SA Council wants to wait. We'll see who wins. I'm just glad he got the interview (which means a 99% chance the job is his as long as he doesn't blow the interview & he won't)!

Now on to the search for a new home....

House hunting is going to be stressful simply because of the time and distance (12 hrs) involved. We have been told that some councils will pay for a 2nd trip out to look for a house. I hope so!!

We are going to try to purchase a home this time. We are tired of renting and just feel like it's time to make an investment in a home. We owned a home several years ago, but with all the relocating decided that renting was easier than buying and selling every few years. We have contacted a mortgage company about pre-qualifying. We have no idea what price range we'd even be able to look in. So, my new prayer request is that finding a new home will not be too stressful or hard. I found one I like in a real estate magazine that has a MIL suite. That would be great for when all you ladies wanted to come visit! :) (It's most likely more than we can afford!)

Pam, house hunting is very stressful. Take your time and don't jump into anything. I know you might not have a lot of time, but make a list of wants and then stick to your budget. Praying here for you. Have you heard when the interview is???

One thing great about moving frequently is that you know exactly what you like and dislike in homes. I have a list!! I refuse to live without a dishwasher again!! :) My kids have added a pool to the list. I think that's wishful thinking!

I have not heard about the interview yet. Dh was going to talk to his boss about it today. He was promised when he was assigned to camp (4th year when he was only supposed to serve 2) that it would not interfere with his ability to interview if he had the opportunity. He's going to remind them of that, but said his boss will likey say he never said it. I keep teasing dh that when he leaves I'm going to leave a huge sign that says "A scout is TRUSTWORTHY" on it.

The interview is set for Aug. 7-8. The SA office decided to respect dh's boss's wishes and wait until after camp is finished.
