I sure hope some of you got to see the elephants this morning. They were so cute. Three of them came to the waterhole and were so wild. They stomped and dug in the mud and tossed it on their backs. One got down in the water and rolled on one side for a few seconds then stuck his face in it to get back on his feet. They stayed for several minutes and then all of a sudden all sort of paused and as if they had been on a schedule they started to leave. One came back and seemed to be washing out his or her trunk and mouth and the others waited for him and then they walked off. It was so neat. Hope some of you saw the show. Beth

Don't give up ladies. Sometimes you see tons of animals and then nothing for days. But it is so cool when you see one you haven't seen before. Beth

It is Monday and it is 7:01 here in NC. There is a whole flock of vultures at the waterhole and near around it. There is a dead water buffalo or wildebeest and they are feeding on it. I can't see which it is but I think a water buffalo. Made me think of last Christmas day when the lions were there eating the water buffalo. Yuck.

I have a feeling we will be seeing more animals as it gets later. Last year we saw lions eating a water buffalo on Christmas day. It was wild. They hung around for days. I haven't seen a lion in ages. I wonder if this will bring them around. I love seeing them but they keep most of the other animals away.

Well it has been almost a year since I first "went to Africa" by way of this site. I hope some of you are still checking it out once in a while. It seems to be getting green around the waterhole again and I have seen a few animals lately. If you have never tried it, please go take a look. Your kids will love it when they get to see elephants and all the other animals. It takes lots of patience and there will be days when you won't see anything. You will learn what times of day you are more likely to see animals. If you are interested go back to the first post in this thread. Just wanted to put this here for those who haven't yet "been to Africa." Beth

PS. No animals right now. It is raining hard at the waterhole.

Well this is a gross first impression for any of you who want to try the Africa site but there are vultures and a dog like animal eating on the remains of a water buffalo. Beth
    I promise it gets better!

Nothing right now but the camera moving at slower than a snail's pace around....Okay so I lied. I see monkeys, but the camera isn't focusing on them, it's still moving...which is now away from the monkeys I'd like to see!
