I totally forgot to post this last night! You all know that I'm on late at night, so if you get up on Friday and there's no thread... go ahead and start one. ;)

We'll use this thread to chat this week. You can start by posting your starting weight and/or weight loss goals, or whatever you feel comfortable posting. I have been getting your PMs, thanks, and will work on a spreadsheet to keep track of things this evening.

I'm in the over 200 group (I'll post my starting weight this evening after I buy a scale today  ) and my eventual goal is to be down to 150 by my next year's anniversary - August 4. For this 4-month period, to reach that goal I need to lose about 25lbs! :)

'In the under 200 group here. Since you're scheduling this round for 16 weeks, and since 2 lbs/wk seems like a healthful and do-able goal, I'll set my goal for a 32 lb loss by the end of Sept. (More would be better.)

Would anyone like to kick off this segment of the downward journey by joining me for a fast on Monday? I'm thinking of only water, but if I get weak or cranky, I'll either juice some vegetables or squeeze a lemon into the water.

    I'll join you! :)

I can't do a complete fast, because I get light-headed. (I should probably have my blood sugar tested. LOL) BUT, I can do water, nuts, and fruit. :) Sound fair?

Great idea, and just the sort of kick-off thing I'll need.

Oh... I just remembered that I'll be at cub scout day camp most of the day. Dunno if that'll make it easier or harder. LOL But I'm sure I can still pull it off. Thanks!

I'm in the under 200 category. Long term,my goal is 45-50 lbs., but my September goal is 25 lbs. I'm hoping for more, but want to set a reasonable goal!

I weighed 260.2 this morning. Eventually I would like to lose 100 pounds, but that's not going to happen without major surgery by September. LOL So my first goal is 10% of my current weight - 26 pounds.

I am not joining you guys because I DID have major surgery last October 15th. I just wanted to say how proud I am of you all for doing this together. It sure helps to have a group to lean on for support. I attend a WLS support group once a month. I am going to be watching how you all do. I am down from 274 pounds to 182. I saw 179 for a day or two, but Crystal's sickness caused a bit of nervous snacking on my part. I am working on that. I was at a BMI of 42 when I started. Now I am close to normal. Best of luck to you all. Beth

All right I'm in the over 200 group and my starting weight is 220 exactly.

My goal for the next four months is 30 lbs! How cool is that if I stick to it at then end of this competition I won't be in the over 200 category anymore! It's been a long time since I've seen 199 on the scale!

I'm in the over 200 group, and my goal is to lose 40 pounds by the end of September. Given how much I need to lose, hopefully that figure isn't unrealistic!

I am going to be doing The Lords' Table program. Have any of y'all heard of it? The website is http://www.settingcaptivesfree.com/TLT_InfoPak.pdf . My sister has lost 40 pounds on it since February.

I saw success on it in the past (before I fell off the wagon!). I do the eating plan where there are liquid days, so I will do my liquid day on Monday to join y'all on the fast. They do advocate actual fasting days, but because of blood sugar issues, I just can't do those.

As soon as my stimulus check arrives, I'm signing up for water aerobics classes. I'm also going to dust off my Leslie Sansone "Walk Away the Pounds" and "You Can Do: Yoga" DVDs.

Good luck to everyone! We can do it!

I'm in the over 200 group too, this morning I weighed in at 267. I would like to lose 30 pounds in the next 4 months. My ultimate goal is 145.

Alright. I bought a scale! It reads out tenths of a pound. ;)

I just finished eating (don't ask!) and then weighed. (I know. You don't have to tell me how smart I am. )

My starting weight is 224.0 and thus if I reach my goal of 25lbs lost, I'll be in the under 200 group next time as well! See you there! ;)

For some reason, I cannot get that program to load, Kari, but it sounds good.

To keep withdrawal symptoms at a minimum for Monday, I'm going to be extra careful about the carbs I consume for the next two days. I get shaky even on an average day if I eat much bread, chips, cookies, candy, or ice-cream. So I try to avoid them. In prep for a day of fasting, I know I have to not only completely steer clear of junk food, but also limit the good carbs like potatoes and fruit. For a short time like this, it doesn't hurt the body to be in a mild "ketosis" state. And it sure makes going without a lot easier! ('Just thought I'd pass that tip on for others who have low blood sugar or a very sensitive pancreas.)

I am under 200, my starting weight being 156. I hope to get down to 135 (but would be thrilled with 140!)

Last night my friend Cindy came by, and we walked (and walked and walked!!!) We got talking, and she just kept right on going without any regard to where she was. Finally, I said something, and we turned around and came home. Today, we're going canoeing (if the weather co-operates, which it isn't suppose to do!), so I will have two days of exercise IN A ROW!!!

I'm in the under 200 category! :D YAY! (considering that a year and a half ago I was in the way over 200 category, I feel nice!).

I did weigh myself on Friday (do anyway). My am weight was 195. I'd like to be 165 (that's 30 lbs) by the end of the challenge! :D

    THANKS for organizing.

Anybody concentrating on anything specific this week? My goal is going to be drink MORE water and LESS Coke :D

ETA: I've heard of and even started The Lord's Table before - but I ended up getting pregnant while trying it, so I had to stop! Blood sugar issues keep me from doing a complete fast day... I'll consider doing it again, but can't promise I will... :D LOL! (I'm a control freak!)

This is what I'm concentrating on this week, too. I drink Diet Coke, but I actually think it's worse for you than regular. My dh got me addicted to diet drinks.

I'm also trying to find a child bike trailer for my dd4. I want to get our whole family riding more-at least to the pool and back every day- but need a way to carry my littlest one. Been checking out Craigslist with no luck yet! We go to the pool almost every day, but for me it's not true exercise, just playing with dd4.

Hm. Two birds with one stone. Maybe I should try it! ;)

As for cutting back on Coke, I already did that. LOL Lost 30lbs doing it! I had to stop drinking so much because I was getting headaches.... I just switched to sweet tea, which is not a TON better, but obviously enough better to cause me to drop the weight! My mother also lost a lot when she switched, but she only switched from regular Coke to Diet Coke.

I'll confess a common temptation for me, before beginning on a diet, fast, or better eating streak, is to cheat the day before, thinking, "Tomorrow I'll make up for it." I'm not doing that this time. In fact, I started cutting way back today already in prep for Monday's fast, thinking that maybe it won't be so difficult if my stomach is a little bit shrunken beforehand. Also, I've read that all coffee, tea, sugar subs, etc. should be discontinued a day or two before, also. Since my system over-reacts to carbs, I'll be restricting them tomorrow. Best wishes, everyone!

I've realized that weighing myself right after eating was stupid. LOL I need to change my starting weight to 221.5 please! :) I've weighed myself three times since that other one, and it's read this every time. Duh. :D

I've also been told that you need to weigh yourself BEFORE exercising!

LOL!!!! :D Boy that came out wrong. I got pregnant (by my husband) shortly after starting the Lord's Table. I actually ended up miscarrying, and the OB suspected it was fasting and not eating well in those early weeks. After that I went thru a pretty deep depression (much more than the miscarriage, problems in my marriage, and whole slew of other things), I never restarted :D.

So, no. Can't get pregnant from The Lord's Table diet!
