Ok, I really need to lose some weight and be accountable to someone. I am in the under 200. I weigh 162. I would love to be about 140-145.
I'm in the under 200, but just hardly. I am 195, would like to loose 25 by the end of this challenge, so I would be 170...total, I'd like to loose 70 lbs
How life plays tricks on a person! Here I was, encouraging everyone to prepare for Monday's fast by eating carefully today, and then our beloved older dd and beloved sil invited us to join them for pizza for lunch. (We had such fun!) And then someone else brought enchiladas to our house for supper. So much for practicing what I preach! I'm sorry to hear of your miscarriage, Krista. Did you do exentensive fasting? (If you care to share. You certainly don't have to.) Were you on a balanced diet? I just thought you might have learned some things that could maybe help some of the rest of us. OK, I am resolved to "afflict my soul" until Tuesday morning. I guarantee I'll be doing more praying tomorrow as my spoiled body cries out to be fed!!!
I missed something! Are we suppose to fast on Monday? I'm not sure that will work for me.... And today we had a Life Group picnic, and a graduation party. I took a home-made cherry pie (OK, honesty forces me to confess that Rachael did an AWESOME job on the crust for me!) and S'more Brownies to the picnic, plus all the junk at the graduation party. I promise to do bettter tomorrow! We are going strawberry picking tomorrow, so we will have lots of fruit in the house.
Jackie, I don't think anyone has to fast tomorrow. Some of the ladies said they were going to fast, and I'm going to join in with a liquids-only day. So join in if you want; no condemnation if you don't!
I can't fast at all. I had an eating disorder when I was younger and didn't really eat for almost 2 years, and I am afraid of going back there. However, I was a size 14 little girls when I was 18
I'd like to join too, I'm in the over 200 group. I am 259 and by Sept. would like to loose 25 pounds. My ultimate goal would be 80 pounds.
So how's day 1 going for everyone? My fast day has turned out to be extremely easy...I woke up with diarrhea and an awful tummy ache. Not eating today? A piece of cake! But, ugh...I feel icky. Going to go lie down again soon.
I fasted yesterday instead of today. It's easier for me to do when dh is around to cook for the kids. I've also been taking my dog out for walks in the evening and I did my TurboJam workout this morning. I love the first week of weight loss where you can lose a lot more than you normally would! Amy
I don't do well fasting, so I've just been watching what I eat. I've had about 32 oz. of water so far, which is really good for me!! I'm planning to ride my bike some this evening when it cools off.
Me too! I've been tempted about a hundred times today, but because of my commitment to this group, I've resisted. At about 2:30 I drank some liquid vitamins mixed with water.
I've had tea and coffee today, which was my downfall. I need to get off caffieen. I have drank 32 oz of water though, which is wonderful for me! I am doing slimfast, which works well for me, but did have salsa and chips, but not nearly as much as I normally would have!
I've been outside with cub scouts all day long, and fasting just wasn't feasible for me in that situation. (It's like 96* out there!) But, with packed lunches and lots of water all day along, I ate much, MUCH lighter (and probably healthier, definately with the water) than I'd have done at home. Hopefully dh will go with me tomorrow. Ughedness.
Well, this morning we went and picked 50 lbs. of strawberries. (Yes, I DID say 50 lbs!!!) They cost $.90/lb, as compared to $2.50/lb. on sale at Meijer's. So today I started making strawberry freezer jam, and we had strawberry milkshakes tonight. Carl has requested strawberry bread tomorrow, and I want to make strawberry scones for staff meeting at church on Thursday. Sigh...so I have a funny feeling I WON'T be winning this contest!!!
LOL Jackie! Hey, everything in moderation, right? No reason you can't enjoy all of those treats (which sound wonderful, by the way!) in small portions. And I bet it was great exercise picking those berries!
With being gone and all, I haven't seen this thread until today! I WANT TO JOIN! I'm at 163, and would like to lose to 140. But for this challenge, I'd like to lose 15. Did I miss a thread where this was explained? I wanted to join, but I don't remember any details. Anyway, I'm starting today...
