Thanks, Jennifer for the info. We are going to be watching this, unless we forget. I wrote it down on my calendar.
Thank you so much! We are just getting ready to start a space unit (Just got tons of books at the library this morning) and this will be perfect for kicking it off.
Jennifer, Elijah told me about the eclipse before I told him. He said he knew it was around his birthday. I told him he could stay up tonight to watch it. Tomorrow's his birthday and we are going to be very busy with that tomorrow, NO SCHOOL!!! Thanks again Jennifer.
I'm just wondering about letting the kids stay up late. the link says around 10:30 p.m. will be optimal viewing.
The moon was gorgeous here last night and I'm hoping for the same tonight. 10:30 is not late for us right now and I'm excited!
they had a big article about this in the paper here today... dd11 really wants to try and see it, but it won't be until 11pm our time and i don't know if we'll still be awake... i don't really want to stay up that late because we're going skiing tomorrow early in the morning, but it would be pretty cool to see... we'll just wait and see if we're still feeling awake enough that late.
I think we get to see it around 8, but it's snowing. Hopefully it will clear up enough, but it's supposed to snow the next few days.
I want to see this, but I dont think we see it until 10. I stayed home from church so I could go to bed about 8. I forgot about this. Now I want to cry. I REALLY need to go to bed. I have HUGE dark circles under my eyes Im so tired. I wanted to go to bed all day. lol
It is really clear here tonight. About one more hour and we should start to see it. Elijah is excited and can hardly wait. We just checked again and it is starting. We are taking pics at different intervals. Will post when we get a series. This is exciting and fun
This is cool! So far we have an excellent night for it with no clouds and it is high enough above our tree line that we can see the moon really well. Already it looks like "someone took a giant bite out of it" is how my Joyce put it! I'm going to keep checking on it between laundry and trying to settle the little ones down.
