It's a total eclispe now. It's dull red looking, not the white brightness. This started about 8:50 and is total at 10:00.
So sorry that it was cloudy for some of you. It's really neat to watch. We took pictures of each phase. I think we will be doing a lapbook about the eclispes. moon and sun.
It is clear and beautiful here. I just put my 7 yr old to bed on his floor so he could watch it until he fell asleep. He is enjoying it so very much! So exciting to him!
*****caution******temper tantrum***** It's cloudy and we can't see anything!!(lots of foot stomping) Ok...vent over. Bad and inconsiderate weather!!
It's a bit hazy here, so it isn't as impressive as it would be if it was really clear, but we have been able to see it and the 6 year old is excited about it
We let the kids stay up. It's now 10:30, and it's complete here, so the kids are going to camp out in the family room in sleeping bags. Like G'ma said, Ohio is clear. Rachael took some pictures, but wasn't able to get it complete. That picture just looks black. I'm going to try to post them. Carl's in the shower right now, and we may have to wait until he gets out.
I tried to take pictures, but my camera won't focus on it, and it just comes out dark! Okay, I am eta that I switched something on my camera, and now it shows up in pictures, but looks pretty blurry. If anyone gets some good pictures can you share them? It's 7:49pm here right now, so we're still watching it. I go out every few minutes to see how it's doing. It only has a little bit until it's a full eclipse. This is when I wish I had a better camera!!! I'm heading back out to see what it looks like now.
It was totally clear here! We often have cloud cover and miss out on things like this, so it was really neat to finally be able to see one of these! It's pretty much over here now.
For those who missed out on seeing it, here's a site I just found with photos.... http://spaceweather.com/submissions/map.php?cat=eclipses&limit=10 At the end of that link, you can change the number to have the map show more. You can also click on the thumbnail and it opens bigger in a new window
It was cloudy here but enough breaks in the clouds that we got to see it at several stages. I think we freaked the neighbors out a little, but they finally came out and looked too. Beth
We looked through our telescope, Watched the moon turn red, When it started turning bright again, We all went to bed. It was really cloudy here until about 9:30 and then it was absolutely clear so we could see it very well.
Yep, here too! I bundled up and went out anyway, cuz it was clear and I so wanted to see the eclipse! If it was something I DIDN'T really want to do, I would've used the cold as an excuse NOT to go out!
Yep, it was here too. It was 22 degrees when I checked during the middle of the eclipse. We would just run outside long enough to get a good look, run back in, and repeat every 10 minutes or so, LOL.
