I challenge each and every one of you to a mission for the week: Clean out at least 3 drawers in your kitchen!!! I just did, any one want to guess how many rubber/silicone spatulas I have??? Hint: its more than 4 and less than 20:roll:
also: what is your favorite kitchen wepon?? mine is a small metal spatula...... for turning pancakes, moving cookies, and serving meatloaf!!!...... and lots of other things. Least favorite: wooden spoons...... they are only good for stirring kool-aid.
I like your challenge and I think we can all do that and feel real good about ourselves. Favorite kitchen weapon, I would have to say my little Cutco paring knife. It stays so sharp and I use it almost daily. Least favorite, potato peeler, I cut myself with it. I would rather use my paring knife.
I accept. And favorite weapon? Are you serious? I sell Pampered Chef. Do you have any idea how hard it would be to pick a favorite? lol.
Ok - my food processor right now is my favorite. I'm making salsa and canning so I use it all the time. I love my wooden spoons! I stir everything with them - and I hate the plastic/metal ones I have.
Count me in! BTW, I love Pampered Chef! Ok, my fav right now (cuz it does change) is my griddle! Does that count? LOL I am using it all the time, several times a day. In case that doesnt count I also love, love my P. Chef big white spatula/spoon!
my favourite is my largest Henkel knife. Still works like the first day I received it, 15 years ago. I hate to cause snickers and sneers, but my kitchen drawers are currently tidy and completely decluttered:!:  Michelle
My favorites are my pampered chef potato peeler and my crock pot. And I accept your challenge! Mostly because this weeks flylady zone is the kitchen and over the last three days I cleaned and organized every drawer and cabinet!! WOO HOO!!
Good deal! Count me in! My favorite weapon is my mini whipper from Pampered Chef. I love it and use it almost everyday for Ovaltine to eggs. I even use it to sift my flour when baking. Patty
Cheers for those whose kitchen drawers are already in shape! I like the idea of a challenge like this, and I'll take it, but I don't know what to do with having too many things to fit into too few drawers! Maybe it's time to move some of the extra things like hammers, nails, and vice-grips down to the pantry area? One of my most-used pieces of equipment is my garlic press. The least-used one is the broiler pan that came with the oven and is taking up space in the oven drawer, but I never use it. Why don't I just throw it out? I will. That's a promise. I will!
Great idea Amy!!! I will do that in the morning. I really need to. I don't know if I can pick a fav kitchen weapon....hmmm...I love my cookie scooper, crock pot, chopper thingy, rubber spatula....so much.... Least fav......I would have said wooden spoons also Amy but I threw mine away! lol. I guess I would say my cheese grater because it is one that does not stand on its own...hard to use.
For those of you who mentioned wooden spoons. For health reasons, I would highly suggest switching to bamboo spoons instead. Yes, yes, Pampered Chef sells only bamboo, but you can purchase them from other stores/websites as well. Here's why: 1. Wood is an absorbent material. That's why it discolors and splits over time. It soaks up the liquid it's in contact with. The liquid will dry eventually, but the bacteria contained therein will remain in the pores and will not simply "wash out". Bamboo is NON-absorbent. It will not discolor, split, or hold all that nasty bacteria. 2. If you're ecofriendly, Bamboo is a naturally renewing resource. It's a grass. That means the stalks never need to be replanted. On the day that a stalk of bamboo is cut, it can grow back up to four feet. It only takes about three to four years for a stalk to be mature enough to be harvested again. Compare that with the 20+ years it takes a tree to grow before being harvested. And that's assuming the foresters replant new trees in their own wake.
Another PC fan here!!! Went to a party last week, and won the mini-spatula in a drawing, and FREE SHIPPING (WOO-HOO!!!) playing a game!!! Amy, I felt like you did about the wooden spoons; now I use them for just about EVERYTHING! I'm always frustrated, because they're NEVER clean when I want one (and I have several!) Let's see...least favorite..... Oh, I know! It's a PC product. You use it to hold onions when you cut them. Probably one of the first PC things I ever bought, and I NEVER touch it! (By the way, Amie, one of my PC spoons IS split!)
Wow.. I've never heard of one of our bamboo spoons splitting! Yikes. Well, at least you know it's not from water rot... and that's it's cheap to replace (and the new Bamboo Spoon Sets are even better this next season, with a great to finish to make them look snazzier).
Jackie I've got one of those onion holder thingy's the kids keep asking what its for, I just make up some wierd use for it. I used to really like Pampered chef products but the last thing I bought was a digital timer/thermometer and it didn't work after less than a month and the dealer wouldn't return my E-mail and I couldn't return it.
Oh I love the ppc timer/thermometer it's my favorite thing use mine all the time. not many here so not much work to clean out drawers in a rv.
Amy, ALL PC stuff is guaranteed for at least one year! When did this happen? Do you still have the receipt? I'd be complaining about that consultant!
ABall, If that every happens again (or now, depending on how long it's been), call the company directly. If you have the receipt or the Consultant and Hosts' names, you can activate your warranty without the middleman. Typically, you'd want to contact the consultant, but if she isn't doing her job, there are ways around it. If you're talking about the clock/timer, it has a one year warranty. If you're talking about the digital oven thermometer, it also had a one year warranty but has been discontinued for nearly a year. The customer service number is 1-888-our-chef
they told me to send it with the origional recipt but I didn't know where the origional recipt was, I ended up throwing it away.
