Wow you guys have taken naming a school to a whole new level. T-shirts--that would be cool.

And the safety conscious mom in me wants to print them on something exceedingly bright for field trips!!!

I haven't posted much but wanted to chime in. Our school will be named (in less than two months!!!!!) Watershed Academy. We live in a watershed region for starters. Also, with the parent/child coming together it makes me think of a watershed. To top it off I will be using a mixed curriculum to bring it all together so Watershed just seemed appropriate. I'll have to get dh to work on a logo. That'll keep him busy for awhile

I have asked my daughter about this and she still says we don't need a name. We home school. We are not a school because we home school. Ever since I saw that others had names I wanted one. She won't have nothing to do with naming us. Now for my tots. They have no choice. They will be attending MamaBear's Preschool. Everyone has their own 'out' box for daddy. All three have their own PC time and their own workbooks and reader books.

Ours is *Last Name* Christian Academy.

I made some homeschool T-shirts. I need to get some more transfer paper so I print out some others I've made. I bought some T-shirts at Michael's (craft store) for just $1.99 (!) each!

ChelC, I thought I'd heard the name North Star Academy before, so I Googled it to see. Sure enough---I got 10 pages of responses with that name!

Since there are so many, I'm sure it's not copyrighted, but if you want something more personal, you might want to find another special name.

I found out that the name we chose (Lighthouse Christian Academy) is some kind of satellite school or something like that, for Bob Jones University. And that's only the beginning. When I Google it, I get 10 pages of responses for it also! :) So, I'm thinking about it, but haven't come up with anything else yet.

When we started homeschooling we were in the middle of the adoption process. My husband was adopting my son from a previous relationship. Garrett was so excited to be taking our last name, that I chose to give ourselves the name Schlagel Family Acadamy. It seems to fit us well as we are proud of our family. We don't have a logo, mascot or colors. I did just mention those aspects to my oldest and he said yeah that would be cool, so I'm sure we will start brainstorming on that one. I have though about making my kids lots of different t shirts promoting homeschooling though and will probably try to squeeze in making some this summer.

I picked up a couple of polo shirts for the kids at our local Walmart and got a thought! Why not have shirts for school? So i went back and picked up a couple of more (pink for Bethany and purple for Elliott) before the stock is all gone.

I've designed a logo for our school, I just have to sit down and embroider it on the shirts. I tried to iron on but that didn't work out very well. -LOL

I am thinking about naming our homeschool QED Academy

QED stands for the Latin phrase, Quod Erat Demonstrandum, meaning “proven,” or “it is proved"

It is also stands for quantum electrodynamics.

It would be my little inside joke every time someone asks what it means that does not homeschool. I can think, Yep, another public school outcome. It will also be thinking yes, it is again being proven that homeschooling on the whole is more successful than the PS system, it is proved.

    Problem = America's Education system
    Solution Homeschooling QED

I am also Thinking about WIKI Academy.

We have shirts. It's neat when we all wear them---easy to find each other anyway! :)

LOL yeah that would be a good one!

I would like to make T-shirts. I am thinking of getting white T-shirts and having them print on them or use fabric markers. Something where they each make their own but with the name of our hs on the back...now I just have to figure out what that is~
