I am not Christian, so no my religious beliefs have nothing to do with it, but it is very trendy to oppose Christian values for the sake of opposing Christian values and nothing more. In fact, I'd go so far as to say it is now the NORM to oppose Christian values for the sake of opposing christian values.

And that's it? That's all you have to say about all the other things I posted about? A dig at Christianity? Rethinking your position on needles for addicts, maybe?

Again, I ask you to describe what benefit society as a whole has when prostitution is allowed - legal or otherwise.

I am not against banning prostitution from an entire country (or allowing it for that matter), nor am I against banning/allowing drugs, condoms at school, birth control etc. I am FOR local neighborhoods (school districts etc) creating these "morality" laws so that people have a choice as to whether or not they wish to participate/promote in that behavior.

Right now in America parents can't prevent their children from getting general anesthesia and undergoing an abortion if they so choose even though the child is unable to give a complete health history at the time of anesthesia which greatly increases risk for anesthesia related complications.

This is the type of strong armed tactics I am against. Forcing a parent to accept the child's decision of abortion unequivocally. Forcing a neighborhood to allow prostitutes to "entertain" men in the house next door. Forcing families to put up with drug users and so on and so forth. This creates an us vs them society which is never good, but does help out those who wish to change societal norms towards more liberal ideas and force those who oppose to come along for the ride.

Allowing a centralized Federal government make such laws attempts to FORCE people who do not support such things into accepting them.

Likewise - have a centralized Federal government banning such behaviors also tries to FORCE people into accepting the alternate point of view.

nope, i just haven't gotten back to that post yet ~ this thread (this forum entirely) is fairly active and i jump around.

i didn't take any sort of "dig" at christianity ~ you said that people are for these amoral {in your opinion} things because it's the opposite of what christians preach and i responded to that because it jumped out at me at that moment.

as i asked Ava - would YOU like to be told that you only support X because it goes against the teachings of Ygroup? i mean, forget that you have a mind of your own and might have actually chosen your position thoughtfully eh? that's why it bugged me.

I wasn't going to post on this, but I thought about it all day. LOL I agree with this, but is legalizing murder, rape, and theft, really that much different? God sees all sin as sin. There is one no worse than an other, right? So, this really isn't that extreme. Wrong is wrong in God's eyes, it is people that think telling a lie isn't as bad as murder. JAT
