Remember, Jackie, the days when gas was $1.50 a gallon? The prices throughout town might vary by 5 cents....well, the percentages of variation are still the same.... Oh, how wonderful to live in the midwest right now!
Well, my post about the hike was rumour... but it sure did cause a lot of panic - I sat in a line up at the gas bar yesterday and it was a small line compared to others. The confusion started when someone accidentally posted the wrong price on a webpage... Brooke and Jackie, don't get too comfortable. CNN was saying the other day that the main pipeline between TX and LA was shutting down - that's the one that runs to the mid-west...
It's down!!!!! It's finally gone down (it actually went below $1.00/Litre the day the car was taken back) and it's down even more now
I saw tonight for $2.17/gallon, which means it's probably $2.10 by where DH works. Yes, I'm glad it's down, but who was it that said way back when this started that they were just trying to get us comfortable with $2/gallon? Let's see how low it really goes.....
I think it was high long enough (as if it isn't now???) that we have trained ourselves to be more conservative....not the proverbial "we", but at least our household. I hope others keep up the good work in that department. Maybe it will get a bit lower yet.
$2.39 here in Pickens, SC. Still too high for me. I really am glad it is down but it is starting to put stress on my income situation especially with Christmas coming. We may as well be quite we can't change it. Can we?
Just went down to $2.89 here in Southern California. My husband is in Las Vegas right and he said the cheapest gas he has found there was $2.51.
Last time I got gas it was $2.51 a gallon. I'm going to need gas again soon, and now I'm looking forward to seeing if ours has dropped significantly or not. I surely hope so!
