 I watched that episode last night and I thought the exact same thing!! Don't they have tons of stuff from the other 17??? Do they need to buy new each time??

Oh and why on earth after 17 do you need to attend birthing classes???

Did you see the way that other guy in class looked at them? I thought that was funny.

Now I have always kind of liked the Duggars until recently. I do not like the way their children raise each other. It isn't fair at all. Of course kids should help out and they can learn a great deal but dang come on! They raise each other and the parents just oversee things. Like when they were getting into that big van/bus thing. Here come all the kids, most holding babies, kids buckling kids into the car seats and getting situated. Older kids calming younger ones down. THEN here come mom and dad - like celebrities entering the bus in a grand entrance.

    Made me want to puke.

Meaning you broke their spirit :( How sad is that????

I watched a few minutes of the new one in the middle of the night last night... man they are just strange to me. I don't understand the whole birth class thing.... heck after 15 previous natural deliveries you would think that the kid would just fall out... even transverse as it was. My hubby really thinks they are super strange.

Sommer, I read somewhere that after so many births, no sooner do you have contractions and the child can literally birth right away. I guess you're all stretched out.

She must do her Kegel's faithfully, that's for sure!! I did think the birthing class was weird. I went with my first pregnancy, but never thought about going again.

Today I sat down and read this thread for the first time. Ladies, it really isn't much more than a lot of GOSSIP!!! First of all, their lifestyle is NONE OF OUR BUSINESS!!! How many kids they chose to have is NONE OF OUR BUSINESS!!! What right do we have to sit here and criticize how they raise their kids, or fuss about how we have HEARD this or that? They are accountable to GOD for the raising of their children, not to US. They have managed to deal with that many kids WITHOUT financial assistance or debt; perhaps we should be paying more attention to how they do it! I mean, if they can do it with 20, shouldn't we be able to with less than half of that?

I feel like THEY do make it our business.. they CHOOSE to be in the public eye and in my opinion opens them up to be our gossip.

But they choose to put their lives on TELEVISION! For the entire world to see! Do you really think they expect no body to talk about them? I mean good or bad people all have their own opinions right? So if everyone here thought they were fabulous and wonderful we'd still be gabbing about them.

If they didn't have a tv show and splash their family all over the world there would be nothing to talk about.

Personally..I think if they choose to announce births with pictures of the whole family, televise their way of life, have a website about themselves and hold seminars while passing out pictures to the general public. Then they have come to the conclusion that people in general will discuss them and the way they choose to live their life in the public eye. If they didn't want this, they would quit putting their family out there for all to see. Besides, what you see on t.v, hear on t.v isn't necessarily the way this family acts is truly who they are.

That's OK! I don't get upset when people don't agree with me, but I STILL think it's nothing but a bunch of gossip!

I just opened this thread for the first time today, too; I have to say, I do agree with Jackie's gossip standpoint, even with celebrity status. Just because someone opens themselves up to it doesn't make it okay to do. I'll agree that when one puts themselves in the limelight in any sort, one does open themself up to it, but still not okay.

I don't know a lot about the Duggars, other than the fact that my oldest DD wants to have 18 children too (I told her there is NO way that is happening if she can't even keep her room clean, LOL), but how much they love their children is a something we can never judge.

    That said, my opinion is....
    (Just kidding)

My DD is fascinated by them and has seen the show on TLC. She loves that they "school at home" like her and said with that many kids it must be fun all the time.

    Maybe for the kids...as a parent...not so sure...

Also, I think the baby gear shopping was for mom. I got the impression they had never bought new for a baby and she thinks this could be the last one and she wanted to get all the frills.

I get it, and with 18 kids I think she deserves a little splurging.

They seem happy, content and they appear to love each other. Who are we to judge?

Nope I don't agree with you at all Jackie and the others that are on your side, yes it is some gossip some of it isn't they show it on the show if they didn't want us to know that then they shouldn't have a show, and be a quiet family. They want the world to know or they wouldn't write books or do a show. I am sure alot of the money they make helps raise the family, which is great but sometimes you have to take the good with the bad. They show on the program where she hands the baby over at 6 months to the oldest to raise to get her body ready for the next one. That is not right, I don't care what anyone says here, it's not right, the Good Lord did bring those older children in to raise another child that is not theres. Yes, alot of it is gossip but 99.9 percent is what they say on there program if you watch it. In my books it's not right for a mother to pass a baby on to older ones to be raise it so she can go in the bedroom. Like I said before I was raise in a very large family there was 11 of us and our neighbors had 16 children and neither mother put the little ones on us.

OK Jackie and the rest throw the tomtoes go for it.
But, please do them in green and red for the holiday spirit... thank you.

I agree with you Kris 100%.

It is just like any other TV show out there. People watch a show and then discuss what they saw right? That is just what we are doing here.

Personally I don't give a darn if they have 18 more kiddos and pass them all off to other kids to raise. It is their family and their life. I just happen to not agree with it and would never do that in my life.

It is still a TV show and people will discuss it.

Someone once told me that any talk that is not productive is really gossip. So, truthfully, nearly all the threads on this site are full of gossip. Gossip and idle talk, if you think about it...
