Her name starts with the letter F. MORE extra credit. Who were the two ladies she worked with and one of them had a son. What was his name?

Boy this is taxing my brain! I can't remember the details. Once someone says them I'll remember the rest! ;)

I can see her plain as day! But I never really watched that show. Alice had the son.

BUT...if you're talking TV commercials, which singer/composer wrote lots of well-known commercial jingles, including "You deserve a break today...."?

He didn't write it. In fact years ago he went to the press and got them to publish a statement about that. He was getting the credit for writing it when if fact he only sang it. Seems like a pretty honest thing to do.

Huh! I was at a concert and he said that before he got started singing as he was, he wrote a lot of jingles and he sang a bunch of them (including the one above). He'd say, "See if you remember this one..." and sing one. such as "Drink Dr. Pepper, the joy of every boy and girl. It's the most original soft drink ever in the whole wide world!" And, "I am stuck on the Bandaid brand, cuz Bandaid's stuck on me!"

That concert I went to was in 1985. Was what you're saying after that? Cuz he sure was saying he wrote those at that concert!

Not that it neccesarily matters! ;) It's just that it was such a fun part of the concert that I remember it clearly. Although, I suppose he could have said he wrote jingles LIKE these, and sang those ones??? I dunno!

Freddy didn't remember anything except that he was on the Ellen show once and said he didn't write the McDonalds, Dr. Pepper, or the Pepsi people one. He did write a lot like the Stuck on Band aids one. You can fine out more about it on the All Experts site I think. I just remember about the McDonalds one because I was thinking the guy who wrote it died and it was in the paper that he wrote it.

Although others have answered, the show was Alice. Alice, Flo, and Vera were the waitresses at Mel's Diner. Alice's son's name was Tommy.

Back to Barry Manilow.... I'm betting he meant that he wrote some, and he sang some others. Then when he started singing, we just assumed he both wrote and sang them all.....?
