When I was 6, I swore I would marry Mac Davis. GEEESH! Who remembers That fool? hahaha! (Yea, the 70's I know....)

P.S. WHY did I want to marry him, at 6? I had just learned the concept of maraige an didn't want to loose my maiden name....nope.. too annoying.... we had the same last name... and it seemed (In my simplistic view of the world,) the perfect solution....

Did any one ever guess the 80's term for gotcha? I hated it and didn't like for Maggie and Katie to say it. Their best friend said it all the time when she wanted to trick them or was just being mean!

I remember when (I'm having a brain freeze due to listening to Joyce singing with a see and say!) opposing brands ie. coke vs. pepsi were not allowed to use the other brand in their commercial. They had to cover the other product up. Now it's like nothing is held back!

The reference to "kiss my grits" is funny because I had just mentioned that to my good friend when she was mentioning what she would like to say to her boss. She is a waitress in a small country store where you can buy crickets, horse saddles and eat in their restaraunt. My dd is working there and is tripping off how "old day" the set up is.

Btw, I loved Barry Manilow, Neil Diamond, Air Supply, to name a few. Motown hits also: Peabo Bryson, Patti LaBelle, etc. I laugh now that back then I only knew of two music genres - country and everything else!

Jennifer, My daughter in law is a personal teacher's aide for a blind child at my grandson's school and sometimes works at a store near their house on weekends or evenings. It sounds just like the one you are talking about. Buy a lottery ticket, a shovel or a pizza while you fill up with gas out front. Oh and rent a movie while you wait.

Pretty close, Beth! I've seen lawn tractors on the front porch and I did forget to add gas! It was my oldest dds first job and now Jane is putting in a little time there. No pizza but they have the best marinated steaks. Jane came home a few weeks ago cracking up over the whole pig that was on the table in the back.

Chicago and Bread was mine, but that's more the 70's than the 80's! Yes, I'll go with Air Supply, too! (AND MEATLOAF!!!)

Not sure about co-stars, but haven't all but one of the actresses playing the little girl died?

In the late 80's a new show came on that we watched. It started with a Joe Cocker song. Can you name that show? (Extra credit for the name of the song, the main kid's name and his friend/girlfriend's name.)

Wasn't there a show that used "I get by with a little help from my friends"? I was thinking "Golden Girls", but after consideration I decided that was "Thank you for being a friend", and it obviously wasn't what you were thinking!

The song was With a Little Help From My Friends! You are right about that part. My daughter, Katie, loves the Golden Girls reruns!

His girlfriends name was Winnie Cooper - and the main kid was played by Fred Savage....I think his name was Kevin? His best friends name was Paul (that kid I THINK went on to become Marylin Manson, I have not confirmed that, it's just something someone told me once so don't take that as gospel).
