Pam, Garrett works mostly independently too.. it wasn't so bad a year or 2 ago when he needed more help.

I think I need to make a reward system for myself.. if I check all his work once a week I get something... maybe a cheap bottle of ....

well thats a bummer.. they were out of the large colored cards and the colored envelopes.. So I didnt get any, but I could make some I think I have some thing here..... but I really wanted to get new ones, fresh and exciting, so have to look and see where thhey went but resting my foot first.
I think there are a couple of colored enves in the computer desk so I will look there in a few, and dd suggested I use the folder things or colored file folders otherwise.. jsut not the same.
We used some of the manila envelopes for his 'office type Math and English helps' he really had fun making that up too.. Not sure where it went when we cleaned the den to put the new floor in.

I want some chocolate pie! how do you make it? uh, I know wrong thread for that! Pm me or something?

ok,l what I did find is some velcro attacher things wtih sticky backs, supposed to be for posters but I am going to use them to hold the enveloped when I get them... or fid them I remember buying some red, yellow and bue ones here someplace.. but while looking I found some green annd blue contac paper and clear, so I could at least do those two colors on anything... i found 4 more 1 more one inch binders... I found some cool stickers and things lol.. lots of more Life Paks and teacher books I could sell.... eventually.... and some errasable dtab dividers that I could actually use wee!

While I was at staples I found a cool geography chart game that would be way below my ds age but would be a fun thing for him, so I will put that in my fun stuff to do file!
( imagine for box users, My files are your boxes)

    Geography chart game????

Chocolate Pie.. make a graham cracker crust (1 3/4c crushed graham, 3tbs sugar, 6tbs melted margarine mixed, press in pie pan, chill 1 hour), make a box of chocolate (or what ever flavor pie you want umm banana??) instant pudding with 1 3/4c milk instead of 2c, mix till mixed and pour in pie crust.. refridgerate at least an hour and serve, you can top it with whipped cream for extra yum..... but I just learned not to put the whipped cream on until you serve it or it will liquify in the frigde

Come on TMom... I made things I had work for my prototype.. I know you can too ;)

mmmm smores. We are going camping this weekend for the first time since Rylee was a baby!!! I'm so excited!! We bought all new camping equipment when Reagan was a baby, and we just never went.. I'm sitting here printing out things to take with us.. hidden pictures from the highlights site, mad libs, yatzee score cards :)

I really wanted to get our first week planned out this weekend, but it looks like it will have to wait till we come back.

This topic gets more and more entertaining.

I like the organizational ideas and the geography thing TM picked up, and now I need to go make a pie, LOL. We had smores this weekend (well all the stuff anyway, the kids don't like smores, silly critters)

lol. Ange, leave it to me and TMom to threadjack and get WAY off track! We are the best in the world at it.

We eat smores often.. we put a marshmallow on a graham, pop in mic for a few seconds till the marsh puffs up, pull out top with chocolate and other piece of graham... YUMMY! We also have a fire ring in our yard just for campfire nights which of course are complete with smores.

I wish my backyard was big enough for a fire ring, but I have to get my fill of fire when we are camping.

Okay- you "mutated" so I'll follow....

Have you guys tried the strawberry or toasted coconut marshmallows on s'mores yet???? Oh my!

I made my own geography Bingo cards for the states a couple of years ago. We also have a "concentration" type game (made of fabulous index cards- lol) that has a country and its' state capital to match. ex: Buenos Aires/Argentina I'm going to use this for ds9 this fall. We will start with South American countries for example (in their own envelope!), then move to European countries, etc. His older brothers can play but they have to have matches from all over the world for more challenge. (You can also make this a spelling game... if the child turns over the card "Buenos Aires" and can SPELL Argentina before turning over the card he gets a bonus.)

    My evening two cents...
