Yeah, even though we're higher than the average here in Western WA, we have friends that are moving to Southern CA. They say besides for missing their friends, they'll miss the gas prices here! A month ago it was closee to $4 a gallon in the La Sierra area where they are moving! Aaaahhhh!

My understanding is that California requires so much additional stuff added to the gas due to environmentalists, which jacks the price WAY up.

What do you think the "Actual" Retail Value" of gas really is?

What do you think the "Actual" Retail Value" of gas really is?

Just for fun; I think the actual retail value (meaning what the price should me a tthe pump) is about $1.25 a gal.

    What are your thoughts?

No, I do not have enough to do!
    haha!

Actually I have too much to do, and I am trying to distract myself, so play along or kiss my grits! haha!

Around here (southern Oklahoma, an hour's drive from the Texas border), gas is down to the $2.60's depending on where you go...

Our worst horror story for gas is when it jumped from $2.35 to almost $2.60 in less than 12 hours. That happened to us last year though. Other than that, I'd have to say we're not doing too bad... $50-$60 to fill up the truck, and it lasts 4 weeks. My DH has to drive 10 miles roundtrip for work Monday - Friday. So that means on a 22 gallon tank we get.... just over 9 miles per gallon. Not bad when you consider hubby has a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Extended Cab. I'm not sure how good the MPG is supposed to be, but that's better than my dad's new SUV. He has to fill it up every week, and it costs them at least $40 a week.

    Hmm!
Taking California's politicians into consideration and the exuberant amount of tax we have to pay, I will have to say it is probably .10 cents a gallon.
    Just kidding!
    You never know!
Honestly, I will have to say about $1.25-$1.50 a gallon.
Maybe even less when you consider that even the gas station owners have to make something out of it.

I agree with Jen and Emmas#1Fan, gas is worth between $1.25 and $1.50

Of course this comes from someone who doesn't drive, but I do keep track of the truck's maintenance schedule and everything. So it's not like I'm completely out of the loop when it comes to vehicles.

I don't know what it is today here in Indiana, but the other day it was 2.49. Happy to see those prices falling.

I better go check what ours is. Last time I got gas I paid $2.75, and that was a great price compared to surrounding gas stations!

Here in Illinois it the lowest I have seen is 2.69.
Last time I filled up it took $40.00 and my gage didn't say full. It took it about 10 minutes to show it was full. I figured it wasn't use to a full tank. I thought it was weird.

I am doing what I said I would do before..

I am waiting until my tank is nearly empty before buying gas, and even then, I am only buying what I need for that day or the next.

I only fill up, when the price is rising.

No need having $2.35 gas sittin gin my tank for two weeks, while the price is falling, eh?

(I only need to fill up every two weeks, if that because we purposefully moved around the corner from my husbands work. I use more for church, and shopping and library than he does. He fills up maybe once a month or 6 weeks.

    WEEEE!!!!
