It makes me feel so bad to think that anyone would not feel included. This is a public forum and to me, that means everyone is included as much as they want to be. I never considered that someone wouldn't feel included. So I am sorry that people may feel that way.

I do understand about the religion part. I am one of the people who talk about that often. That is just who I am, but completely respect and accept anyone who does not feel the same way. I am going to try and be more careful about what I post in this area. I certainly don't want anyone to feel like an "outsider" because we may have different beliefs.

I would love to hear from Kris. Timkelmom, would you please let her know how much she is missed and we would love to hear from her. I did send her a pm several days ago and never got a response...which has been more of a concern for me.

Just so EVERYONE on this board knows, I am here to hear from EACH of you. To get ideas, hear your stories, and get encouragement. Sometimes I respond to threads, sometimes I don't. But I always get ideas and wisdom from each of you whether I respond or not. So please, don't feel like you are not included....that just makes me sad :(

Ladies, You all are so sweet. I been laughing so hard I all most fell of the chair. We are find. Timkelmom e mailed this morning saying I needed to go on homeschool everyone was looking for me. We are find. Just really really busy with the holidays and trying to get back into school. We had so many birthdays too around Christmas so had to put them in.
I am not mad at anyone and like it was said if I was I would of pm them. I am FINE and so is the family. Just busy. Thanks all of you for thinking of us. It's wonderful to know I have a support group out there. I hope to be back on more today or tonight and get caught up on everything I missed. I missed you all too.

You all are a sweet bunch of ladies. I can't believe I have been gone this long. But, we made it through the birthdays and holidays. I hope you all did too.

I can see why those who are not Christian or religious feel excluded at times. It seems the majority are Christian and because of that, we feel the freedom to express our beliefs on any thread. I can see why that would make some feel uncomfortable. Afterall, this is not a Christian forum, so I can respect that. For some of us, our faith is so central to who we are and how we do things that it simply comes out. I hate to see anyone feel excluded. That is no fun. Besides, this group is so awesome it would be a shame for anyone to feel the need to go to any other forum. This may be a bit of a tight group but that speaks to the love this board has to offer not to any type of clique. The more the merrier!

Tinklemom, please let Kris know that she is missed. Also let her know we all hope things are well.

Yippy! Kris is back! I knew you would have a good laugh at all of this. I didn't think you were the type to have a problem and not try to solve it. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year!

Glad you're back, Kris! Was hoping you had taken off on a year-long trip of the country, and were going to visit each of us individually!

Timkelmom, since so many of us hs BECAUSE of religion, it's hard to keep it out. But that DOESN'T mean you can't contribute or are unwanted. Common sense about kids (or anything else!) are not limited to any particular church or denomination. Yes, we are a rather "tight" group, but I do hope we're not "clickish". The more you say, the more we get to know you. The more we know you, the more you feel a part.

Do you have any ideas how we can make others feel more welcome?

I have to take some responsibility as well. I don't post that often, so I have not given everyone a chance to know me. Or for me to get to know any of you.

Believe me, I understand that when your religion is your life you can not turn it off or tone it down. It is a part of who you are.

I travel all around the US in my RV, so I have lots to share, I'll have to make more of an effort.

Plus I LIVE on a disney forum and spend a lot of my day there between school and stuff.

As far as making others feel welcome, just remeber to keep everyone involved. It feels bad when you post something and no one responds or when you ask a question and don't get an answer.

Sorry this is so off topic. Kris, glad to have ya back!

Actually it's NOT off-topic for the forum! It's important to talk through these things and know how people feel! I think this whole message was at least partially about feelings, so what you say is very important to us and the forum!

I agree about the closeness, but it only happens after awhile of sharing with each other, and keeping in touch and jumping in with comments. It takes a little while, just like making friends when you go to a new place. But after awhile, you realize you're a part of this forum and feel close to the people here. A few of us have been around for a long time (YEARS!), and have seen many people come and go. The ones who stick around and join in are the ones that get the most out of it!

I want to apologize to anyone that felt left out. I'm sure noone meant it that way! But I, for one, will try harder to make sure all are involved as much as possible! I care about you all, so join in, we'd love to hear from you and help you feel at home here!!!

I know for me that when a question is asked and I have no answer (such as Does anyone know a good site for teaching Physics?, etc.) I won't respond. I just assume that SOMEONE has some knowledge and will answer. I feel silly just saying "Gee! I don't know, but I'll post something anyway!" KWIM? But thanks for the input. I'll try to keep your comments in mind! I really appreciate the feedback!

I think Kris is the one who also lives out of an RV. I think it'd be neat to travel like that sometime!

I had the feeling Kris would be laughing at us!!

As far as the religious side of this group, I was raised in the church and still have my beliefs but we do not attend a church. One thing I love here is that there are many women who are grounded in their beliefs but I don't feel I'm being pushed to be a certain way. The way I look at it, if it is too religous of a post, I can skip it but I have found that most threads have good info no matter what the starting point.

    Anyway, welcome back Kris!

Ooohhh...we are a BIG Disney family here! I didn't know there was a forum! :) My dh's family started going to disney 2 times a year starting from the first year they opened. As the family grew we now go 1 time a year (ususally every june). There are about 30 of us that go and we have a BLAST! My parents live down there, too, so we make it a big vacation.

Ok...sorry, now I am off-topic. Just wanted to share that!

Timkelmom, I am so sad to hear you feel that way. You jump in and I will try to make you feel welcome.
I find the ladies here to be pretty nice. Yes, some topics can get heated but thats anyway. Just choose what ones you want to read and write too.
I also live in a RV and never had any trouble here with the ladies making me bad because I live in RV everyone lives in somelthing. I know what you are trying to say. But, I hate when someone feels that way. Email me and I will try to help you out.

Jackie, I was thinking of heading up to Ohio, first I needed to stop and get Deena and family and they were ready LOL

Timkelmom, this isn't an exclusively religious board. People have left here over that sticky point, and that never should happen. All are welcome, especially you!

Thanks ladies, you have all been very kind.

Hoosier Mama, I am happy to talk about Disney anytime. I am quite knowledgeable about all things Disney. We go several times per year. We were just there for 2 weeks in Nov. and will be returning in Feb. and March. If you would like to know any of the many Disney forums, I would be happy to provide them.

Deena, thanks for the kind words, You are very nice to make my feelings seem valid. I would like to know you all better.

Kris, my fellow RVer, don't you worry, I NEVER let anyone make me feel bad about my life choices. My family is happier than it has ever been and financially this lifestyle is really good for us.
We choose to live in the RV. We still own our home in ATL also and could have chosen to stay there, but that life was not the one that was meant for us.

Thank you all again very much for you feedback and kind words.
