I actually had to look in Hanover. I'm afraid that's not going to work out eventually, like if he sends me for tests or something.

It's really hard when you have to leave your own area for the care you need. It kills me to see people from all over the state being sent here to this little town for medical care.. I don't know how anyone can even afford the travel let alone a hotel room and such when they are sent here. To top it off, I don't think this hospital is all that anyway.

Sommer, im really glad he is behaving this morning, can i just offer that even if he is well behaved, he is still grounded from computer xbox, and if he sees you stand by that he will have great respect for you. maybe instead of giving a little and letting him do the computer, you might be able to think of something else he really enjoys doing, like a card game or something, to reward him. i know when my kids have been super sweet after being grounded from tv for 2 days, it is so tempting to give in, but i know that to give in would be to break my promise, my boundry, and that is not good for them, so i always try to do something extra special and fun, just not give in.

The grounding conditions were (he has been grounded from them for several weeks) was that he would earn playing them by being good. To me he has earned some time to play them. He did about half of the math work I had for him.. which is fine with me, it just needs done before we go for our evaluation which I haven't even scheduled yet.

well, then that makes perfect sense sommer. i would def follow through and if hes earned it, give some time for computer. thats is a great way to motivate kids, find what works and make em earn it! hope the rest of the day continues to go well, how are you feeling preg wise? i cant remember, you may have said, but do you wait till you go in labor, or a c section? I remember that last month seemed to drag on and on, lol.

We are scheduled for a section on May 12th, but the doc thinks I may go into labor before then. Other than horrible insomnia and my back killing me I feel great.. I have gained 11 pounds.. hubby has gained about 20, so I'm doing good..lol

I'm trying to get my house spotless before the baby is here.. but I have a hard time staying on task.. I start one thing then go do something else instead... I sill have over 2 weeks.. I will get there hopefully.

may 12th, that is a good even number, i like it, lol. but you are maybe hoping it will come sooner? i hated not being able to sleep, but being exhausted, lol. that makes no sense does it. are you having a girl or a boy, do you have names? i did the same thing, trying to get all my organizing done and deep cleaning stuff done bf baby. it was helpful, but i used a list to stay on task, bc i was kind of dingy, hairbrained or whatever, lol. im so happy everything is going good. are all your kids excited? i think i gained about 20 with my last baby, and i think dh gained 20 as well, lol.

We don't know what we are having.. we are hoping girl, but I have a feeling it is a boy.. I'm carrying like I did my boys and the heartrate is low.. 140-142. Ry has been the only one above 150... so even though there was a spot on the ultrasound that hubby and I both agreed looked girly ( we asked the tech to not show us.. but she was going from abdomin to legs and legs looked good and open) I have a feeling that we are in for another boy.

We aren't 100% set on names yet.. this is the first one we have struggled with.

Oh.. and I don't want to go into labor.. my first was a nightmare, that I don't want to relive again.. but going on the 12th is cutting it close to my due date of the 15th.

Don't! He's got his consequences to deal with and you don't want him learning that he only needs to be good enough to get those consequences erased and nothing more. Not that you can't find him something enjoyable to do.

That does not sound like ADHD. I have a lot of experience with ADHD and that does not at all sound like it. Trust me. It sounds like something else..where the adhd meds will make it worse. I am serious.

    http://www.bpkids.org/site/PageServer

I am not saying the above is what it is, but if you give adhd meds to a child with almost any other disorder, you can really set off a serious episode and behaviors you will never want to see and might not be able to fix.

Please private message me if you want and we can talk about it more.

Most of the behavior he exibits is ODD.

We did ask about bipolar when we went to the neuropsychologist. The told us they were pretty sure that wasn't the problem. The doc we saw said that if it wasn't for having to follow the hospitals rules that she was 99% sure we were dealing with ADHD and ODD, which often go hand in hand and would treat him as such. We spent everything we could on counseling, and really because they wouldn't give us a diagnosis without the outside source, what they offered us was limited. We can't afford $80 a week to see a counseler.. many paydays.. every other week... I only have $100-$150 for food and household supplies as it is.
