Wow, what a mess, eh? I would just remind you of this: It is not you vs. the social worker. This is a spiritual thing, and the devil is after families. I think we all need to get on our knees and hit him where it hurts...the spiritual relm! Remember too, that we are to be a cunning as serpants, and harmless as doves. Pray for wisdom and discernment! Many hugs coming your way...

Trish, the more I dwell on this, the more I realize that this is happening to me for a reason. While I will be nervous until it's over, and I'm willing to play along despite my normal aggressiveness just to spare my family any further and unnecessary problems, I feel a strange sense of empowerment and especially a sense of motivation to work towards change. The biggest question on my mind has been "Why?". With all of the real problems that exist for many unfortunate children, why on earth is there such a desire to harass and even fracture a decent family? You may very well have hit the nail on the head--we are combating evil. After all, the girl that is assigned my case seems to truly believe all of the tactics, opinions, etc. that she has been taught. I'm sure she doesn't view herself as doing anything wrong. Brainwashing at its most evil, for sure!

I will be praying for you and your kids! It's just terrible when good parents are treated so horribly and so many kids are in bad situations and really need help and never get it! We had a scary incident a few years ago when the police were called by our neighbors because they heard our daughter crying after she was spanked (very close to an open window, late at night). We were shocked when the police arrived at our door-our daughter was already sleeping by that time. He asked to come in, and we let him-to show we had nothing to hide-he checked in on the kids, and was appologetic about the whole situation, realizing that we did nothing wrong. Thankfully, it did not go any farther. But, WHO KNEW that it's a crime to have a messy house??? That's just crazy, I mean, if it's not a real health risk! Will pray for God's protection and peace for you and your family! And hope all goes well with the move!

"It bugs me that kids are raised in crack homes never to be visited by the HDS, but us home school mamas who have little time to clean up the house get bit in the butt just cause we go against the grain."

I agree with this!! We have a drug house down the street with KIDS my sons age living there and the cops are aware of it. But nothing is happening to stop it AND the kids are STILL THERE!! The Grandma has custody and she is the one selling the drugs. I don't get it!

Even the social worker noted that there we no bugs, etc. in my house. The police officer tried to say some things that weren't true but I calmly but matter-of-factly corrected him. When I offered to take him back in the house and prove him wrong, he dropped it! Sure, if my house were such that I was attracting rodents, etc it would be different. Interestingly, I find that some people who have a neat, clean house have disgusting habits that I would consider incredibly unsanitary. Despite my mess, I always make sure things and procedures are clean and sanitary when it matters most.

As for my overall life and the lifestyle of my family, I guess I could some it up this way: "My house is a mess, but my life is in order." I think that's something that bothers alot of people. . .

This just tickled me. That is totally me, and it drives my dh nuts. I know where things are, they are not in a 'normal' place or put away all the time. But hey life still happens without many mishaps.

I personally go nuts when things are not in their proper place. lol. Yet, at the same time my biggest struggle is staying organized.

Anyway, I think a messy house is not necessarily a dirty one. One cannot visually see the germs and gunk that maybe lurking in some "neat" homes. I mean, kids' toys all over the floor and messy bedrooms won't attrack bugs or rodents. lol. OH and I have a friend who is very neat but got mice one year. I had mice in my garage...didn't come in the house though...thanks to my dog. lol. Sometimes even the "clean" get a mouse in the house. I even have a spider here and there. Geesh!
