Ladies, We have Hurricane Dolly coming right to us. They are hoping it hits more south, but we are suppose to get alot of wind and rain. So, when you can think of us once in awhile. Maybe it will miss us, but they said so far all three tracking maps has it coming right on us. but, you all know mother nature she can change her mind in a heart beat. I will keep you all posted as know ok.
Hey Kris, I had to bite my tonuge earlier today. I almost asked God for a big hurricane. We haven't had any measurable rain since October. I mean nothing. Others in our area have had slight rain but we haven't. It is so dry even where my washer water drains the grass is just barely green. But they are saying Dolly will rain on us, and the purple sage is blooming so i know we will at least get something. I will pray for a small tropical storm with no damaging winds instead, but with rain for us. How does that sound?
We've only had one good rain since October. We desperatley need the rain. I'm hoping we get rain from the hurricane without all the damage. Stay safe Kris. Our youth group is in Brownsville this week. That area is also included in the watch area.
ok I missed something some where better get out the weather channel radio and get my butt moving here, I just got a call from the oxygen people wanting to know if we were leaving because of the hurricane I said no not yet. He wanted to know our plans, well I have nothing plan. Better get busy.
Aggie where do you live? I am just north of Houston and I heard we were supposed to get some rain but not the wind. When I saw the news last night dh said "oh great with a hurricane in the gulf gas is going to be $6 a gallon". We still haven't been able to pay ourselves this month so I took money out of savings and after VBS this morning I went out and bought groceries and gas just in case prices skyrocket. I spent $130 on food and gas was $3.82 per gallon. Kris you stay safe girl and if you need a place to go come on over. We always have room for friends! Do you have my phone number? I can't remember if I gave it to you before.
Kris, how close is the hurricane to you? Are you planning to come inland? I'm thinking I need to get some gas tonight, too!
Keep safe everyone with that hurricane. I hope it's not too severe. I've only ever been in the middle of one hurricane and it wasn't too serious..actually me and my neighbors sat outside in lawn chairs and watched it...
Hey Kris stay safe!! We are supposed to get about 50% chance of rain from the huricane ourselves......ya gotta love living on the Gulf Coast during hurricane season...
we are one mile in land from the gulf of mexico.....so we are very close to it. Should say right on it.
When I saw the one report yesterday it was supposed to hit the Yucataan and then Mexico so I was surprised to hear last night that it had steered farther north and was headed for Texas. Kris, you be careful girl!
Please be careful, Kris!! Here's the NOAA page for watching the tropics... scroll down for updates about Dolly: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/
You can keep up on it here: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ Hopefully it stays downgraded and doesnt do much more than give you a good rain. Stay safe.
Any of you gals wanna come to my house for a huricane party? hahaha But seriously Kris, if you guys need a place to stay for a week or two, we are right up 59 before Houston. We are praying for rain, too. We have cracks in our yard the size of minivans...
